A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

This post will be unlike the ones I have posted previously. When I woke up this morning (my birthday morning 🙂 ) I had the privilege to witness a beautiful sunrise from my upper back porch. I got up especially early to go to a great sale on Christmas items. Funny what things put a spring in your step so early in the morning (great shopping)…

I am linking up today to a link party on Savvy Southern Style (Wow Us Wednesdays), so I thought it appropriate to post my pictures today that WOWED ME!..

The beautiful sunrise peeking through the gorgeous trees. When I see such a beautiful sunrise as this, I take my coffee and sit out on the porch and take it all in. But today, it was in the lower 20’s, so I admired it from the other side of the french doors!..Went out there long enough to take a picture!

The back view of my house..taken last year when we had snow..Wanted to show my upper porch where I sit and enjoy the view..

A corner of the porch…Obviously in the Spring..As you can see, my hydrangeas have a wire fence around them..The deer love them!!..I try and use a very light plastic “chicken wire” as it is hard to see from the golf course behind us..you know those restrictions..no unsightly view for the golfers!

Another view…you can see a little view of my neighbor’s back porch..since the picture, she added those outdoor drapes from Ballard designs..I will have to take some pics when Spring rolls around..They are beautiful.

Another view..you cannot see my rockers from that angle..but just love them..sitting and sipping ice tea on a beautiful Carolina day.

Last, but certainly not least..my best “Wow” for the day..my birthday card sitting by the coffee pot in the butler’s pantry. You see, my sweet husband leaves me cards of whatever the occasion is by the coffee pot because that is the very first place I go in the morning!..and my most precious Wow for the day is a call this morning from my beautiful granddaughter wishing me a Happy Birthday on her way to school.

So what more can you ask from life, a beautiful sunrise, and greetings from wonderful friends and family. I am blessed. I quote this often, but I am doing it again…as my dear mother says when you ask her how she is doing..”I am doing great because today I woke up and saw the sun”….
