Where IS that house?….

That is a common question from the golfer’s who live in the neighborhood and see the back of our house.

The rear facade of the house looks so totally different in style as opposed to the front facade.

Yes, the serene beautiful scene after our very first snow in our house…

…..actually, the very first snowfall was the day OUR BEAUTIFUL GRANDDAUGHTER WAS BORN!!

……….there were just an hour or so of flurries.

I think it was a sign..

…..a sign of a beautiful thing waiting to come.

I feel as if it really wasn’t snow…it was MAGICAL FAIRY DUST falling from the sky…

…..because as you know, something beautiful and magical happened that day….

My son and daughter in law were blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby girl…..

…..our precious Granddaughter.

So winter turns to beautiful spring…when my beautiful hydrangeas start to bloom…

I love my hydrangeas and so do the deer…hence the fencing….

AND NOW WE COME TO THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE…

You can see why…people say when they see the back facade…Where IS that house?…As it looks totally different
from the back….

Front and back are so beautiful, Shirley! It is deceiving when you see the front after seeing the back.

I enjoyed the tour of your beautiful home on Debbiedoo’s blog. It has a wonderful, inviting Southern charm. The great photos you shared are why so many magazines are no longer in print. LOL I hope you and your family make lots of memories there through the years.

  8. I just saw your beautiful home tour on Debbie’s blog. What a fabulous home you have. I love the way you have mixed antiques in with your more traditional decor. It all blends so perfectly. Your apron front sink I am swooning over! I also love that your home looks totally different depending on whether you view it from the front or back. It was a delight, from the first photo, to the last. I can’t wait to visit your blog now.

Shirley, the pics of the front and backyard are beautiful. What gorgeous landscaping and such green grass! I checked out DebbieDoo’s blog and every pic was absolutely perfect. I love the ornate shelves in your powder room across from the laundry, the beautiful chandelier and mirrors in the master bed and bath, and the iron gate on the wall is exquisite. You have such a good eye for unique treasures when you shop. Every single corner of your home is perfection. You are so very talented.

  12. Shirley your home is so inviting and the exterior makes one want to discover the beauty inside!

  16. Shirley!! Your home is so beautiful. I think it’s cool that the back and front are so distinctly different. And, I would totally protect those hydrangeas from the deer too. Too beautiful to sacrifice. :)

Just dropping by to say that I loved your tour over at Debbiedoo’s! My favorite thing was the couch in the media room! I’ve never seen one shaped like that! I also like your kitchen. It reminds me of the one in my SC house, and if I still lived there, I would have it re-configured to be more laid out like yours! Thanks for sharing the tour! Your hydrangeas are gorgeous!

  22. I love the back and I love the front. I can see why people are confused! And love the story of your granddaughter’s birth on the first snowfall day! And so sorry that you beautiful hydrangea has too be fenced. Those pesky deers ruin everything! My sister lost her love of Bambi a long time ago when they destroyed all her hard gardening work …

    :)
