A Bit of Retro Christmas Decor

In our family/media room…

…..an area that I place my vintage and antique items that I have had for years….

……….the items that I decided to keep when we moved.

I love using these items to embellish for Christmas…

This post will be very heaving on the pictures…I have much to share before Christmas!! :)

  2. Barbara Bussey says:

Gorgeous tree, young lady! Or should I say trees?! You must need a warehouse the size of a football stadium for all of these goodies!

  3. Polly Hada says:

Geez! Do you sleep? Your house looks gorgeous, but I just can’t imagine all the work. But you’re a natural at all the decorating – it shows. Would love to see how you organize and store all your MANY, MANY things. Just lovely.

  4. Anne Boykin says:

Your home looks fabulous! I especially love the mantel. Happy Holidays!

  5. You’ve got some great pieces, Shirley! Love the vintage Santa calendar and your angel is just beautiful.

  6. I can just imagine how cozy your family room is with all of your Christmas memories, Shirley! You have some wonderful pieces. Love the Barbie! My very first Barbie, that I received way back in 1959, looked exactly like your ornament. Boy, what I wouldn’t give to still have her today.

  7. What a great looking room for Christmas Cheer! I love all the old fashioned toys and the coke stuff! We saw a moose during the summer one year at Jackson Hole…we took the ski lift up to get a great view from the mountain and you could see moose down below..pretty cool!

  8. Stunning — just stunning (as always)!

  9. Shirley, you have taken retro to another level! Your vintage accents are wonderful! How your family must love your home during the holidays! Every room has been a feast for the eyes!

  10. Just so beautiful! I love your mixture of vintage accents and how your decor fits your home decor. Your home is perfect for celebrating the holidays!

  11. I collect quilts and love the Christmas items you have that are made from quilts

  12. Everything is so lovely! Love how you tied everything together! And the flying deer and vintage games under the tree were great touches! :)

  13. Linda Miller says:

Experiencing a first and sharing the memory with your BFFs IS BETTER than finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! No question. Your family/media room is so warm and filled with tradition from Christmases past. That’s what makes it extra special. You can’t buy that in a store.

  14. Shirley, this is great! I love your vintage items- the picnic baskets are adorable! I recognize the Barbie ornaments! Everything looks so festive! You have done an amazing job decorating!

  15. It sounds like you guys were excited to see a moose! I would have been running the opposite direction screaming, “MOOSE!!!!” in a very frightened voice!!!!!! I hear those things are HUGE! It would be kinda cool to see one in person, though…as long as it’s from a safe distance! I don’t need to be close enough to hear it breathe! :-) You did an outstanding job with the mantel without blocking the TV view! LOVE the “flying” reindeer! Very clever! Your tree is heavenly!!! You really fluffed that bad boy out!!! Your vintage pieces are cool! I like the way you stacked the baskets and united them with that Christmas banner! I now wish I would have kept calendars from years past, especially those years with special meaning (son’s birth, etc.). What a cool thing to have! Gorgeous decor, Shirley!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. Shirley you have so many beautiful pieces!! Your home is full of Christmas cheer!

  17. I love it, so fun!!!
Merry Christmas, thank you for linking up.
    XO
    Kristin

  18. Watch out, Shirley! I’ve been coveting the PB woody pillowcover and rug…I know where you live. :)
So cute with the little trucks!

  19. You have some wonderful vintage pieces. Love that cute long stocking on the cabinets. Your tree is gorgeous and everything looks festive. I think you can stop now.

  20. I love all your vintage poieces, and I am guessing that I must be vintage now:):) How do you keep that flying deer on the mantle? I love him! Funny moose story too:) Your tree looks gorgeous! XO, Pinky

  21. These are just stunning pictures Shirley. I love the deer hanging off the mantle, You are a talent I wil tell you that. Merry Christmas!!
