Dundee Marmalade Jars and Bread Boards

I have been a little absent . . . no, not “minded” . . . but away from the computer.

Between an out of town trip and company of dear friends arriving the day after we came home.

The day after we arrived home, there was a package on my porch.

Goodies that I purchased from Mary Alice’s (Chateau Chic) Etsy Shop.

Marmalade Jars/Breadboard

Beautifully wrapped, I could not wait to open my goodies . . .

Chateau Chic

I love the way Mary Alice tied vintage keys to the package . . .

And she included a wonderful surprise!

So what did I get??

  4. Nice treats, Shirley! I have about a dozen marmalade jars, because my grandmother was from Scotland and it was the only kind she bought after she moved to Canada. I love them, too!

  14. I really love that round bread board. Wow! Lots of work went into that. I love the vignette you made with all of your new things.

  15. The little kid in me still enjoys getting packages, and I especially LOVE it when the packaging is as pretty as the contents. What beautiful items you received! I don’t especially care for marmalade (bad experience with it after reading the Paddington Bear books as a child) :-) but I may change my mind if the jar is that gorgeous!

Sounds like you are having a busy yet fun summer!

  16. Love your latest purchases! I love old bread boards and marmalade jars. I have a couple of those jars myself, but I’ve never seen the kind like you found from Mary Alice’s shop. Very unique! Whenever I see a marmalade jar, I always think back to the one my mom had next to our phone filled with pens. That was back in the 70’s! They’ve been around for a very long time. I’m sure she bought it for little or nothing back then too.

  17. Very pretty and I love the marmalade jar, Shirley! Mary Alice did a nice job of wrapping everything. I need to find something like that marmalade jar to hold a bunch of bamboo spoons my husband bought recently. I told him they would look nice by the stove in a holder. Of course, since I said that I haven’t been able to find anything!
