My Antique Shopping Trip Finds {French Prints}

Last week, I traveled to D.C. with my hubby

and made an impromptu trip to Pennsylvania

to meet my friend Mary Alice for some shopping and lunch.

We did more talking than shopping,

but each of us managed to come out with some treasures.

Did you notice anything different in the above photo?

Yes, the treasures that I came home with are the two French prints.

They replaced the heavily framed bird print.

I love how the two prints fill the space so much better than the single framed print

and lightening up the area too.

The French prints were originally framed in a gold and green marble-like frame,

not a great fit for the colors in the room.

I grabbed my Rub ‘n Buff and transformed the frame.

It is hard to capture a photo of a print behind glass in this house,

as there is sunlight/reflections bouncing everywhere in the room.

The artist is Claude Ducollet.

I did not buy a print when I traveled to France,

so these finds were happy ones!

If you are wondering where the bird print went . . .

It took the place of a mirror over the table that is in the guest room hallway.

Now where do I put that mirror?!!!

Another project for another day!

And speaking of day, I wish you a most beautiful one!!!
