Easter Bunny Parade Tablescape and a Giveaway

Each year when I begin to decorate my home for Easter,

memories come flooding back of my childhood and the many songs that my parents would sing.

One in particular is a song that my mom loved,

“The Easter Parade” by the songwriter Irving Berlin.

“In your Easter Bonnet, with all the thrills upon it,

you’ll be the grandest lady in the Easter Parade.”

My mom loved it when Judy Garland sang it. I think I know every Judy Garland song there is!

Call me a sentimental sap!

So today, in honor of the Easter Parade song, I present you with

The Easter Bunny Parade Tablescape and a Giveaway!

See details for the Giveaway below.

Enhancing the Great Room with More Spring

Well, that did not last long . . .

I knew Peter and his friends would be a bit antsy staying in one place and they have moved on

to another area in which you will see soon. In the meantime, since the table looked a bit

empty after their departure, I created another Spring vignette.

Spring enhancements to the room are happening every day.

Spring Vignette with Antique French Apothecary Jar

I am slowly adding my French Treasures into the decor of my home.

Today, I am displaying my antique French Apothecary Jar in a Spring Vignette . .

~ ~ yes, skipping Winter and going straight to Spring.

I can see all the Winter decor I want outside my window!!

I wanted to keep the vignette light and simple..

~ ~ well, as simple as I get.

I used the apothecary jar as a vase in this vignette.

And added these pretty variegated tulips from Trader Joe’s.

My granddaughter told me they are called Fire and Ice . . .

~ ~ really? High five to my little 8 year old budding decorator.

A Spring vignette is not complete without a bird’s nest . . and pretty speckled eggs.

With a background of the monogrammed chair.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing my first hint of Spring in my home!

Still incorporating more of my France trip’s treasures into the decor..

~ ~ so stay tuned 🙂

And don’t forget to stop and smell the tulips!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Ever So Clever, Ever So Pretty Friday, #6, Lanterns-Burlap-and-Bows

Happy Friday everyone…

Today, I am presenting a project that I gained inspiration from Ann, of On Sutton Place.

Ann is one creative lady!…

I saw her lantern project and noticed that I had the same lanterns..

…..so I thought I would give them a bit of a Spring makeover.

DSC_9127

Burlap ribbon, florals, a little birdie tag, and bird nests gathered for the new look.

Here are Ann’s lanterns: pretty, pretty!

IMG_4138-300x300

So I gathered the pair of lanterns that I had and started to try to come close to Ann’s creation…

DSC_9086

These lanterns were too large to place together for a table vignette…

…..so one went in the sunroom and the other in the second guest bathroom.

DSC_9131

That domino effect was happening in the house yesterday..you know that “effect”..

DSC_9136

DSC_9129

My friend Dolores has an extensive collection of punches..so thanks to her, I created my tag.

DSC_9163

Really love the “birdie” punch! Ann had a pretty monogram tag.

Vignette placed in my Ikea tray…

So we shall leave the sunroom, and go to the second guest bathroom where the larger lantern resides.

DSC_9150

Another bird/garden theme going on there…pardon the pics as there is no natural light in that bathroom…

DSC_9157

DSC_9154

Along with the birds nests, I placed some florals and a candle in this lantern…

DSC_9156

This is the next room on the agenda for a makeover…

…..when we moved in 8 years ago..the old world, bronze look was all the rage…time for a change.

DSC_9155

And I forgot to mention what I used to hang the tag on the lantern…

I cut away the wire portion from the ribbon…it gives me a “mini pipe cleaner” of sorts…

…..and it gives you the ability to place the tag in many positions.

Thanks for stopping by today…hope you enjoyed my inspiration project.

…..that I received from the most talented Ann of On Sutton Place..have you seen her gorgeous grain sack pillows?

Today, I will be cleaning and getting ready for company…there’s a softball tournament in town.

However, I won’t feel bad being inside today…as it is going to be a very overcast day..at least the rain stopped…

DSC_9166

Yes…this is a pic of my backyard this morning…a very cloudy day…

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!

Birds in the Foyer

I think I am in the minority….

…..of people who are still taking down the Christmas decorations.

Seriously, I really need to ramp it up….stay up late and get it done…

I did clear the foyer table and foyer of all things Christmas.

Using some “Wintery Christmas items” and accessories on hand…

…..I set out to create a winter vignette on the foyer table.

And of course, the day that I finish this vignette…is a rainy, gloomy day!

DSC_7386

So the pics are a bit darker than I planned on…

I placed some faux birch branches in the demijohn..

…..along with a moss covered branch with bird nests.

DSC_7373

These birds obviously did not fly “South” for the winter….

DSC_7371

DSC_7360

But then again…This Florida girl keeps forgetting that NC is part of the South!

DSC_7374

I thought that since cotton also reminds me of “balls of snow”…

…..I incorporated it into the evergreen.

DSC_7362

DSC_7376

I purchased the container of moss from Kristen of Sophia’s Decor

…..she has a booth at SuzAnna’s in Raleigh.

DSC_7379

As I clear tables, etc of Christmas decor…

…..I am rearranging accessories…many times from one room to another…

I think that is keeping my “sanity” … a nice break from boxing up the decorations.

DSC_7363

DSC_7372

DSC_7365

I am off to put away more Christmas decorations…

…..so I can move forward on to many projects ahead…

……….like this one that just arrived.

8 boxes of “happy”…

I say happy, as “hubby” is putting it all together…

DSC_7380

But first….the room needs to be painted too!

DSC_7382

So I and my feathered friends thank you for stopping by….
