A Spring Vignette {Pottery Barn Candlesticks and Leah Hurricane}

I love the versatility of my ceramic Pottery Barn Candlesticks and Leah Hurricane.

I use these pieces in so many different ways.

This vignette went from an Easter theme to Spring.

This table is in the passageway to the kitchen area.

It was originally my sofa table many years ago. It is perfect for this narrow passageway.

You can see part of the kitchen through the doorway.

DSC_9577

As you can see, I used the candlesticks as holders for the topiaries…

I placed reindeer moss at the base of the topiary for some color and texture.

I have used this Leah Hurricane from Pottery Barn in so many different ways…

…..for Easter, I had filled it with my White House Easter Egg Roll Commemorative Eggs.

Now, it holds a bird’s nest and the mother watching over her eggs…

I purchased this pretty Demijohn at the High Point Market..it was a great deal..

…..so I could not wait to place it somewhere in my house…and it landed here.

I love the color and texture it added to the vignette.

This Spring vignette contains many things that I already have with the exception of this new Demijohn

…..and two new books it sits on..The Welcoming House (by Jane Schwab and Cindy Smith)…

………. and Paris Flea Market Style (by Claudia Strasser). Both fabulous books!

The chalkboard print remains on the mirror…I love it there.

While at Trader Joe’s the other day, I spotted this pretty succulent arrangement…it quickly went in my cart!

DSC_9580

Just hoping that this does well in the house…Any tips out there?

Thanks for visiting today…I am getting ready for more company today…lifetime friends.

…..Jane from Cottage at the Crossroads has featured my friend Linda a couple of times.

……….One of Linda’s tablescapes and her beautiful deck that overlooks the magnificent Rocky Mountains.

Jane has featured non-blogger/readers’ home decor projects and crafts on her blog..Such a nice feature!

Have a beautiful day!!!

Foyer Vignette Where “Dreams That You Dare To Dream”…..

I cannot resist the beautiful chalkboard prints of Dear Lillie

When she did a chalkboard print of one of my favorite songs….I just had to have it…

A song where you can go to a place where “troubles melt like lemon drops”

…..and “the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”

A place where you can “wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind you”…

Yes, I do love that song and movie…I can watch it over and over…following that “yellow brick road”

…..and I have followed that yellow brick road around my house…the road covered with pollen!

The demijohn went back to the table to hold Spring branches and moss and twig butterflies.

I purchased a pair of these candlesticks on clearance after Christmas…

…..I loved the “bowl effect” so that it was easy to place a topiary ball on top.

I purchased these milk glass candlesticks at Luckett’s last year…

…..I turned one upside down, as it gave me another level of height.

DSC_9204

…..and speaking of Luckett’s….

I am so happy that I will be able to attend the fair this year…My hubby has a tournament nearby….

AND…I will be able to participate in the Hometalk Meetup…so looking forward to it!

So today, I hope the “dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true”

Tagging along…

Hubby had clients to see in D.C….

…..so I tagged along.

He saw clients all day for the first day, so I just stayed in the hotel room, catching up…

…..on things I never seem to have time to do..

……….read and watch TV :)

The next day, we headed home….

And look what we see….yes, Wegmans!…The Grocery Store Mecca…of course I had to go in!

IMG_2627

Just wish we had one in N.C.!!

AND… on our way home, we pass through Leesburg, Virginia…

Now…do you know where I am headed????

IMG_2643

LUCKETTS !!!…I made it !!

IMG_2628

As you can see, it was a beautiful day!

IMG_2630

And lots of great stuff to see…

IMG_2631

And even some things for hubby to see…he is perusing some old golf clubs…

And here’s a few snipits….

PicMonkey Collage

And then after seeing all the great things outdoors…I ventured inside….

IMG_2636

…..and came upon Miss Mustard Seed’s fabulous items….

Too bad the secretary would not fit in the car.

IMG_2637

Other “pretties” of hers….

We then left to go downtown to grab some lunch….

……after a wonderful lunch, I spotted an antique store on our way out of town….STOP!!!..

The shop was wonderful.. antiques from Europe: however, mostly from Germany…

IMG_2645

There was an entire room dedicated to German grain sacks and linens….

IMG_2646

But then look what I found!….

IMG_2648

The store owner called it a “wine balloon”…I guess that is what they call the basket weaved wrapped demijohns.

It was huge…they had other smaller ones…but we liked this larger one…I loved the two-toned color of the weave.

I did not take many pictures inside….I was unsure how they felt about it…

DSC_2002

So here is my stash…my treasures of the day….

I picked up the old chair with the missing seat and the milk glass candle holders from Lucketts…

The “wine balloon” and old basket…from the antique shop, German Favorite Antiques….

And this is where they ended up..at least for now….

The chair will be repainted a pretty bright color…this is my future potting bench area…

Clipped more hydrangeas this morning….
