My Spring Front Porch in Pinks, Purples and Cobalt Blues

The painters have completed their painting and refurbishing projects.

I was anxiously waiting for them to complete the job, as one of the projects they had to do

was to re-coat the wood garage doors and front doors.

When the front doors were done, I began freshening up the front porch for Spring.

I knew I wanted my Spring Front Porch in pinks, purples and cobalt blues.

Fall Home Tour

As I start to gather ideas about how I am going to decorate my home

for Christmas, I wander about the house enjoying the Fall decor that I created this year.

For me, it is always sad to put away decor of the previous season,

however, exciting to bring out the decorations for the Season of Joy.

Before I put the Fall decor away, I decided to do a recap of my home for Fall this year.

It all started with the front porch.

Repurposing An Evergreen Wreath for Valentine’s Day

Last year, as I was preparing to toss out my real evergreen Christmas wreaths,

I had an epiphany! ….. Love epiphanies!

I thought, hmmmm, I could channel Edward Scissorhands.

I did the same this year. I got out my scissors and cut the round wreath into a heart,

to repurpose the Christmas evergreen wreath for Valentine’s Day

rather than throw it away.

No Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire

I wish I can say that there are

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

and Jack Frost nipping at our noses.

No, not this year!

Christmas 2015 Front Porch with Rudy

Welcome to my front porch dressed for Christmas,

featuring Rudy.

Rudy was given to me years ago by my niece Melissa

and he usually stood in the front yard

confusing the real deer.

Now he stands proudly on the front porch

greeting family and friends wearing his scarf of ribbon.

Fall Porch

Because I was going to be away for approximately 2 weeks,

I decided not to decorate my front porch until I returned.

Well, I am back and the porch got a Fall facelift.

One of the first things that I did when we returned home

was to go to the Farmers’ Market. One of my favorite places.

Front Porch for Spring 2015

I gave you a bit of a sneak peek of the porch with my front porch wreaths here.

Today, I will show you the rest of the porch dressed for Spring.

I began the decorating of the front porch by purchasing two pillows for the settee.

The pillows are from HomeGoods and I chose them for their happy colors.

which I tried to coordinate with the color scheme of the pillows.

White Hydrangea Spring Front Door Wreaths

I was anxiously waiting for most of the pollen to go away before I dressed my front porch.

The pollen has been truly a nuisance . . .

between the mess and the allergies it prompts.

I reached for my go to grapevine wreaths that are oval in shape

as my doors are narrower than normal.

They were filled with Fall flowers that I removed

and recycled the more Spring like flowers to create another design.

Shabby/Industrial Chic on the Porch

It’s another treasure presented today from my antiquing field trip.

You may have seen a sneak peek of this unique sort of piece.

I loved it and I knew that my hubby would love it too . . . and he did.

Not sure about how unusual it is; however, I have never seen an item like this with multiple uses.

Thinking of Spring Past and Present

As soon as the temperatures started to climb,

I started thinking about what I wanted to plant . . . of the garden centers I want to visit.

With all of this crazy weather of snow one day and warm temperatures a couple days later,

one cannot think of the days of Spring to come.

The very first thing I do when there are no more threats of frost,

I head to the garden center and buy 12 hanging ferns, eight for the back veranda and

two for the front porch and two for the upper back porch. Its says, Spring has come to the South!!
