No Shoes Required Dining Room

Thrifty Decor Chick is having a link party on dining rooms…so today I thought I would take a few pics of my…

That’s because it is a very informal dining room just off my kitchen…a very casual, come as you are kind of room…

The dining room faces the back of the house and property….a view I can never tire of…

Another angle…Dining room table and hutch by Ethan Allen Old World Treasures…now discontinued.
I added new Pottery Barn side chairs to bring in more color and texture…to get away from the “all wood look”…

My granddaughter loves playing “tea party” with this vintage high chair….

A little vignette atop the hutch….

Hope you enjoyed seeing the entire room…rather than a tablescape here and there!!…

I would wear shoes even if they are not required! It is a very welcoming room with all of the windows and the wonderful sunshine coming in make it a room for everyone to enjoy!

  8. Yes! I sure did enjoy seeing all of your dining room! It’s very lovely and welcoming – not stuffy at all. I really like the side chairs. I think your wall color may be the same color as mine.

  9. Shirley,

  10. I LOVE your “informal dining room” because it could go either way!!! It’s beautiful! The color of the room is wonderful (I’m a sucker for yellow…it’s so happy!), and I really dig that ceiling! Most of all I think I love all the fabulous windows with all that natural light coming in!!! My husband just cannot grasp the thought of bare windows, but if I had my way we would have them all throughout the house!!! (If my neighbors caught a glimpse of me naked, that’d cure them FOREVER from peeping in our windows!!!) 🙂 I have toyed with the idea of getting plantation shutters throughout so that he and I both could have the best of both worlds. That may end up being the solution, but I just love that barenaked look!!!

  11. Shirley~ Your dining room is SO beautiful! I love the color, the ceiling, the light fixture, your upholstered chairs and your VIEW! All that natural light and beautiful foliage…*sigh*…so wonderful that you didn’t cover those windows with drapes or blinds! I bet the view is gorgeous in the fall too, with all the leaves 🙂

  12. I love your house. Love the collection of wine corks on the counter…I recently started mine. Thanks for sharing your dining room.

  15. What a fabulous room Shirley! I love all the light that shines thru and your view is amazing! I have the high chair that both my sister in law and husband used when growing up and I think somebody before them. The boys used it but now it is in the attic. I keep debating on if I should bring it back out or not. Thanx for sharing your space!
