My Beautiful Neighborhood…A New Series…Part 1..I Promised You A Rose Garden

When I walk….

I see beauty all around me….

DSC_1378

For I am so blessed to live in a neighborhood with beautiful gardens and beautiful people….

It is a neighborhood that cares about everyone…Even though there are just under 500 homes…we all know each other….

DSC_1372

There are caring committees for those in need….

Book clubs, Bible studies, Bunco, Word Wizards, and the ever so “Crafty Chicks”….the list goes on…

DSC_1377

I fully intended to coordinate this post with KariAnne’s sister’s project for the American Heart Association of
“Where I Walk”…but I totally misread the deadline..and missed it!…

There is nothing like the beauty of a rose….and Barb’s roses never fail to present the grandest of beauty…

DSC_1366

It was a glorious day to “walk among the roses”……along the garden path…

Barb’s roses are stunning…a true show stopper….

DSC_1385

It was a gorgeous day…in our beautiful neighborhood…

There are so many glorious colors in her garden…..Our true blessings….

Barb.. the designer and the caretaker of her fabulous Rose Garden…..

You can always see her working in her gardens….

Her pink blouse, matching her pink roses was totally unplanned…she was on her way out to the Opera….

THANK YOU BARBARA…THANK YOU FOR LETTING US ENJOY YOUR GORGEOUS ROSE GARDEN….

So let’s all take time to STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES…for life is good, as we woke up and saw the sun!

If Barbara’s roses are an indication of the beauty that is in your neighborhood, I’d say you are in a good place. What I appreciate is the fact that you are aware of what is around you.xoxox

In our first home we had over 20 rose bushes, all GIFTED to us from a family friend who worked at a rose garden. I SO miss them BUT plan to have several in the new house. Your neighborhood looks GLORIOUS!!! Can you share what state you are in? Does Barb have any “trade secrets” to share on caring for her roses? XO, Pinky

Just beautiful, Shirley! How lovely to have so much eye candy when you’re walking. I’ve always been afraid to try my hand at growing roses. I think my impression of them is that they take a lot of pampering to look their best. Not sure it that’s right or not. I always envy those who with wonderful “rose thumbs” like your neighbor. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Oh, I just love gardens! I had the pleasure of walking through my friends garden last weekend…she has a really big yard and recently overhauled the landscape to create a gorgeous garden. She has lots of roses and was telling about all of the different varieties there are. I’m very intrigued and intend to start adding roses to my own garden. Thanks for sharing this amazing beauty at Show & Tell.

What fabulous roses. Be still my heart is most correctly applied. I was in Thomasville, Ga. last weekend for their annual rose show and this so reminds me of their beautiful blooms all over the city.
Do you or have you ever considered selling your photos? I would love to have a copy of the first yellow rose in an 8X10 for my home…not for mass production to be sold. Would you let me know at your convenience? Many thanks

Wow, I love your neighbors roses. I have such a hard time with roses here in the North East. My problem is not the cold but the beetles that will soon be emerging from the earth and attacking the beautiful roses. I dream of roses like these. Thanks for sharing them and Barb has a wonderful green thumb.

    Hi Shirley,

Your friend Barb certainly has a spectacular rose garden. How lucky you are to live nearby and get to see this on a regular basis! It looks like her whole yard is just beautiful. Isn’t it wonderful to have good neighbors?

It’s taken me awhile to get back over to your blog. I appreciate your visits and comments; it’s been pretty hectic around here lately. Hubby and I will both be so glad when our kitchen is finished.

Hope you have a great week!

    Denise
