One of my mom’s favorite songs…..
……….CAROLINA IN THE MORNING….
Especially when sang by the late Judy Garland.
I used to sing it along with her…..
……….Never in my wildest of dreams did I think….
that I would be living in “Carolina”…..
NOTHING COULD BE FINER…
THAN TO BE IN CAROLINA…
IN THE MORNING.
WHERE THE MORNING GLORIES (disguised as hydrangeas)
TWINE AROUND THE DOOR…
WHISPERING PRETTY STORIES..
I LONG TO HEAR….
ONCE MORE….
STROLLING WITH MY GIRLIE…
WHERE THE DEW IS…
PEARLY EARLY…
IN THE MORNING.
BUTTERFLIES ALL FLUTTER UP…
AND KISS EACH LITTLE BUTTERCUP…
AT DAWNING.
IF I HAD ALADDIN’S LAMP
FOR ONLY A DAY…
I’D MAKE A WISH..
AND HERE’S WHAT I SAY.
NOTHING COULD BE FINER..
THAN TO BE…
IN CAROLINA…
IN THE MORNING!
I am joining:
Judy Garland sang “strolling with my girlie”????!! I’m surprised the censors didn’t catch that! lol
Love your “morning glories” – the blue is so deep and I love that there are a few pink florets here and there. Such a beautiful place Shirley! xox

Your garden is looking lovely, Shirley! I remember that song. My parents had a Mitch Miller{?} album a long time ago and when we were kids, we used to put it on and sing those songs. I remember the album had the words to the songs inside and we would pull it out and sing along.
What a lovely garden. I’d like to be enjoying my morning coffee rocking on your porch looking out to all this beauty. You’ll have me singing this song all day! ๐
Absolutely loved this post! Gorgeous home, gorgeous pictures. I could spend all day on that porch humming that tune. ๐
Loevely post. The poch is fantastic. The plants and everything else are beautiful. I just love your home.

Shirley, every time I see images of your porch, I just want to pull up a chair and have a glass of sweet tea! The hydrangeas are just gorgeous; and you’ve inspired me to add some hanging ferns to my outdoor space! Nothing could be finer!! LOL!

Your yard is spectacular with all your personal touches. The mornings in Carolina this past weekend have been “fine.”
So beautiful, and now I have that song in my head, giggle. Hugs and wishes for a beautiful week ahead. P.S. every time I see a pineapple figurine or paintings, etc I think of you!
Shirley~ I second that sentiment only they would be a little finer without July’s & August’s humidity to look forward to ๐ I could rock away for hours on your wonderful porch enjoying the flowers and gorgeous hydrangeas!
Beautiful, just beautiful. Mind if I pop over for a glass of wine on your back porch?? ๐

I think I learned that song in school when I was in first grade. Your flowers are gorgeous! I have a bowling ball (crazy, I know) in my flowers that looks almost like that blue orb you have in your flower bed. Love the blues!
