Fall Harvest Tablescape

Whisperwood Cottage is having a Fall Decor Contest….

The winner gets the tremendous honor of being published in the Cottages and Bungalows magazine….

So I sent hubby up to the attic to retrieve some fall decorations….

….and those who know my hubby….

……….he knew just where to go…Aisle 2, Shelf 3.

It was a bit funny doing a Fall Tablescape when it was 90 degrees outdoors….

DSC_3047

However, as I was creating this tablescape, I felt cool breezes wafting through the air…

…..The table is set with Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf by Hall.

DSC_3045

I started collecting these wonderful dishes years ago…

…..They were just perfect for a Fall Tablescape.

DSC_3041

I bordered the “centerpiece” with chicken wire and twig garland…

DSC_3030

I was going for an “after the harvest” look…

…..remnants of hay bales and garlands of acorns.

DSC_3031

The scene of children playing in the harvested fields….

…..this figurine is by Department 56.

I love using unusual things such as chicken wire for the table…

…..a bit of the unexpected.

DSC_3050

Fall is one of my very favorite times of the year…

…..I am blessed to live in an area where the leaves are brilliant during the fall.

DSC_3054

I am expecting company in a few days…

…..I think I shall leave my table as is…

……….just to see their reaction of sitting at a Harvest Table…

……………….at the end of July!!!

In addition to joining the Whisperwood Fall Decor Contest….

I am also joining:

So, so beautiful. I love the chicken wire, who would have known it would have worked so well with your table. Very Fallish indeed. But not overdone. Lovely dishes. One of these days I need to borrow Tom so he can come over and organize my pitiful garage. πŸ™‚

The dishes are unusual for fall in that they are light and delicate with a beautiful design. Perfect for autumn in July in Chapel Hill! I love the figurines as well.

Your table setting is so pretty and really inspiring. I love some of your ideas such as the chicken wire used along the table. Very clever! Hard to believe that Fall is actually getting close. It will probably be a while before it feels like it though. We’re finally getting some rain today which makes the house feel cooler.

    Hi Shirley,

This is such a nice fall table. Your centerpiece with the little bales of straw and the chicken wire is so cute and festive — very fallish. But what really makes my heart go pitter, patter is the Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf dishes. My grandmother had some of those, and I can still remember seeing them in her kitchen when I was a child! She was my closest grandparent, and I still miss her to this day. Seeing those dishes brought back so many memories, and they are perfect for autumn. The little salt and peppers are so cute!!

You did a great job and good luck to you in the contest! πŸ™‚

Your fall table is lovely. The Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf dishes bring back memories of my childhood. One of my aunts had a set of these dishes. The shape of the pitcher is wonderful and perfect for holding the flowers. Good luck with the design contest.
