The Kitchen Christmas Tree and Saturday with Miss Mustard Seed

I am usually 3/4 of the way into my Christmas decorating by now…but with some travel and other commitments, I am running a little behind….

I hit the ground running with the Christmas decorating after Thanksgiving Day…

…..and had a wonderful day on Saturday at SuzAnna’s Antiques in Raleigh..

Prior to the milk paint workshop and book signing…

…..I had a wonderful lunch with Marian (Miss Mustard Seed) and Kristen (Sophia’s Decor)….

DSC_5823

Marian presented a wonderful workshop.

…..She taught us many wonderful techniques using her milk paint and waxes…

…………I learned so much.

DSC_5827

She cut her hair…it is so cute!

Marian took the time to write something special in each book…

DSC_5838

So after the book signing..there was time to “shop”

Here is Marian and Kristen….

DSC_5836

And me…

DSC_5840

And Marian bought this beautiful chandelier from Kristen’s booth at SuzAnna’s…

DSC_5841

Kristen has beautiful items in her booth, including her magnificent painted furniture pieces.

And I cannot believe that I did not get a pic of my friend Brittany of Pretty Handy Girl….
…..Brittany is currently remodeling her kitchen from the ground up…it is going to be awesome.

So after a wonderful Saturday, spent with many wonderful blogger friends, I continued my decorating…

And here is my very first Christmas decor reveal for this year…

…..my “take-out Santas” Kitchen tree..

……….and how appropriate as tis the Season for take out!!!…at least for me!

DSC_5870

The tree has velvet bendable stems made by Raz…

…..the Santa “take out chefs” were a purchase many years ago from Bombay Company.

This one is the “Chinese Take Out Chef”

DSC_5865

DSC_5867

Burgers and fries anyone?

DSC_5851

And here is my new addition…my “chalkboard chef”…

DSC_5846

From another angle…

DSC_5877

These little “guys are new”..bought them after Christmas for 75% off…
…..a good thing, as they were originally $14.00 each..

DSC_5862

DSC_5872

And on the other side of the table is my “Egg Nog Station”…

…..a vintage Egg Nog set by Atlas.

DSC_5876

DSC_5881

I found the Egg Nog Milk bottle many years ago…it was perfect for my Egg Nog set.

DSC_5883

DSC_5885

Now this Egg Nog is for “adults only” as it definitely has a “kick” to it!! πŸ™‚

DSC_5874

DSC_5886

Hope you enjoyed the first of my Christmas decor…lots more to come…

…..just finished another little kitchen tree…stay tuned…

I’ll take some of that take out chef Chinese, with a side of the Chalkboard Chef, and a pitcher of “adults only” egg nog. Looks fabulous Shirley! And I know this is just the icing on so much more to come …

And it sounds like you had a fabulous time with some amazingly talented blogger friends! Fun!

You’re a jet setter these days, lady. πŸ˜‰ Your take-out santas are so dang cute and whimsical. I’ve never seen take out santas before. I LOVE your egg nog station. I never knew there was a such thing as an egg nog bowl and mugs. I’m learning all kinds of things from you today. Everything looks great and I can’t wait to see the rest. xo

Oh how fun. You got to hang with Marian and Kristen. That is how we three met last year, shopping. And how I made a great friend in Kristen. Sorry I couldn’t come and play this year as it looks like y’all had fun.

What a cute idea for a kitchen Christmas tree! I love your take-out santas! πŸ˜‰ My mother-in-law does a kitchen tree and I look forward to it every year. Since she does themed trees all throughout the house, but her kitchen tree is reserved for odds-and-ends ornaments that she has collected over time. I love it! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

That is the cutest tree, Shirley!

What an amazing thing to see the St Charles Dairy bottle. We used to go there for ice cream when the kids were little. They’ve closed now. There is a dairy in Jeff City, Central Dairy, that is very much like the old St Charles Dairy. We stop there now and then, on our way from the lake. Thanks so much for the memory!:-)
