The Sunroom Upside Down Christmas Tree and the Five Favorites and Winner of the “Better Late Thank Never” Linky Party

Before I tell you who the “faves” and winner of the “Better Late Than Never” Linky Party…

…..I thought I would keep you in suspense and present my large Upside Down Tree.

It stands in the corner of the sunroom…

…..It is put together like a regular tree..

I have red accents in the sunroom, so I use red ornaments and glass “icicles” in the tree…

…..along with these cute little owls and birds..

I used the same holly berry garland at the top of the tree that is also on my mantel…

I have been fortunate to find these pretty red glass ornaments on sale after Christmas…

…..and the owls too!

I use quilt batting..berry sprays and evergreens to decorate the base of the tree…

…..and a few crystal snowflakes

A view of the sunroom…..

As with most rooms…furniture has to be moved about to accommodate the trees…

…..I am certain you all can relate!!

I just love Cyclamen this time of year!!…

A few “tidbits” around the room….

Another Nativity that I have…It is “faux marble”…

And this cutie..flew from the tree and landed here…

Thank you for your patience in another picture filled post…and now to the announcement…

…..Do you remember our Linky Party..”Better Late Than Never Christmas Inspirations”??

……….that I participated in with these beautiful fellow bloggers?

And Mary from Home Is Where The Boat Is presented her most creative “Oh Fishing Tree”…

  1. Hi Shirley! I adore your snowy white upside down tree with your little fluffy and fuzzy owls! Your red accents & icicles are wonderful and your 12 foot tree…oh my! It is stunning!

The creativity in blogland is amazing! I need another month before Christmas to cook, create and decorate inspired by all these wonderful projects that were linked and I’m honored to be featured among your favorites from your Better Late Than Never Party! Your high praise makes me blush 🙂

Wishing you and your family the very Merriest of Christmases!

  2. Shirley – this has to be the best upside-down Christmas tree that I’ve ever seen! It’s just beautiful! The ornaments on the tree are gorgeous. I think what I like best about it is the way that you “dressed” the floor just below the tree. It seems to anchor it somehow. Great job! So fun partying with you, my friend!

  3. Shirley – I continue to live vicariously through you and your creative decorating talents. Everything is extraordinarily beautiful and festive, as always! Hope you and Tommy have a very Merry Christmas, and all the best for a healthy and prosperous New Year! We’ll get together in the new year!

  4. Love your sun room tree and the whole room. We are sistas posting our sun room on the same day.

  6. I adore your tree looks so fantastic! I guess I did wind up missing the linky party…I can’t even remember LOL now. Merry Christmas to you and your family Shirley.

  7. Well that is creative my darling friend. Love your nativity set!!! xox p.S. congrats to the featured blogs

  8. The drummer looks like Martin Short! Look at his face. Martin Short, right? With maybe a little Fred Astaire and Red Skelton mixed in? 🙂 That tree is TOO COOL!!! I love that it is upside-down for starters, and then that it is super flocked like it just got caught in a snow storm! Red accents really make it stand out!!! An upside-down tree might be the answer for me in one room where the floor space is limited. Hmmmm…I’ll have to check into that. Although I am pretty sure Ramon would have my head if I pulled up with anymore trees around here!!! 🙂 LOVE the owls! I bought some this year, but never got a chance to use them. Fabulous sun room, Shirley! You have gone to the outer limits this year!!!

  9. CONGRATS to the lucky winners!!
Shirley your tree is stunning!! I love the whole room!

  10. Shirley, you truly are amazing you always stun me with your imagination and talent.

Shirley! I have NEVER SEEN an upside down tree, although I’ve heard of them. NOW I know what they really look like. Finally! Very pretty! Your grand kids must love visiting your winter wonderland. Enjoy! (Love the chalk board winner, too!)

  12. Your home looks just beatutiful. We had an upside down tree the other night since ours decided to fall over, I still don’t know how that happened! I too love the cyclamen flowers. You once again have given me another idea. I did go buy myself that beautiful pottery barn shower curtain too! Thanks Shirley

  13. I must say you don’t see too many of those trees! Yours is so unique hanging upside down like that. I did see it once on an HGTV Christmas show. A designer had her tree in her home like that. I love the owls you used! I bet your granddaughter loves to come to your house during the holidays. There is so much to see! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas this year.

  14. Loved the chalkboard wreath. What a great idea!!

  15. I love the way you connected the bottom of the tree directly to the floor, with the beautiful winter birds, and holly. That looks great in the sunroom. I know that was a really big job.

  16. Shirley ~ your tree is beautiful and those fluffy little owls and your red is truly stunning! Wishing you and your family the Merriest Christmas!

  17. Your upside down Christmas tree is so gorgeous Shirley! I love the little white owls. Too cute! Your nativity is gorgeous too! Hope you have a Merry Christmas. BTW, I am finally feeling better after months of medical mishaps, so I’m hoping I will be able to go to Raleigh with my husband on a couple of trips in the next month or two and that we could meet up for lunch.

  18. Love all the red with the white. So beautiful!!! Your features are all gorgeous as well.

    Lovely home Shirley!

  19. Shirley the whole room is looking so cheery for Christmas! Love the upside down tree!! They are so playful 🙂 The wee owls are totally darling. I like how you’ve got the one over on the table investigating things 😉

Merry Christmas to you ~ Shannon
