My New Craft Area…{Martha Stewart Craft Furniture Collection}

It is finally done…

…..I should not say “finally” as my hubby labored for days putting this furniture all together.

Last year my friend Linda brought this line of craft furniture to my attention…

…..It was the Martha Stewart Collection by Home Decorators Collection

It was a bit more money than what I wanted to spend.

Then, one day, Susan from Between Naps on the Porch did a post…

…..on her friend Marie’s “gift wrapping room”.

I went over again to Home Decorators Collection and saw that the furniture was on sale!!..

…..plus free shipping!…I worked on a floor/design plan and ordered it the next day!

Welcome to my 2nd guest room/craft area…

DSC_7560

Here is the before:

Untitled

And here is the after:

DSC_7619

I purchased 5 pieces…to create this area.

This space is not yet complete…there is a chair for the craft desk, a lamp….

…..and a new chandelier to be hung.

DSC_7615

Due to the configuration on the room, I had to place the 2 door hutch over the flat file drawer chest…

…..this usually is paired with the wrapping hutch.

I opted for the 36 inch high craft table as it is the same height as the other cabinets…

…..and I love to do things usually standing.

We also had the room painted…it went from SW Macadamia…to SW Silvermist.

DSC_7596

The flat file chest provides great space for all of your wrapping and craft needs.

I used my vintage locker room wire baskets to hold my fabric “scraps”….

DSC_7598

DSC_7611

I had these Ikea storage boxes on the shelf of my “old craft area”….

…..I really do not need these actually as I have plenty of storage space..but they are pretty!

DSC_7564

DSC_7563

I am happy that there is now plenty of storage space and useful surface area…

DSC_7566

And Marian’s (Miss Mustard Seed) book for inspiration…

DSC_7567

My old bulletin board fit nicely above the craft table…

…..yes, who in the world saves their old patterns?…I do!..

Don’t look too close or I shall definitely be “dated”….

DSC_7590

It’s also a space that I can showcase my vintage sewing items and notes from my “cutie”

DSC_7569

DSC_7570

These have got to be my favorite “set of buttons”….

DSC_7568

More patterns and some pretty trim…

DSC_7571

And here is the other side of the room….

DSC_7572

My gift wrapping station…I just love it!!!

DSC_7586

As you can see I have plenty of space for ribbons, wrapping, etc…

…..those empty spaces will be filled soon!

DSC_7604

DSC_7583

A vintage typewriter and some vintage sewing items sit atop my Singer stand…

DSC_7600

This Singer table will most likely be re-located somewhere else in the room…

…..after a little makeover.

DSC_7562

Possibly as a new beside table…

To give a surface area for this:

DSC_7577

oh…notice the little silver pitcher..I should have taken a close up…next time…

…..Barb from The Treasured Home brought it all the way from California..

…….she brought it to the Southern Bloggers Conference…she did not forget my pitcher…

……….but she forgot her cell phone!…priorities!

DSC_7609

Or it can be an area for these books..of Thomas Jefferson quotes…or

…..the book by Michael West of Rattlebridge Farm.

DSC_7620

So here you have it…my new craft area…

…..I am so happy that I have a great new space to do my “Crafty Chicks” projects!…

And I want to show you what “little thing” that was following me around all morning…

…..while I was taking pictures.

I am grand dog sitting….Meet Tucker!

DSC_7617

He loves barking at the golfers!

DSC_7594

DSC_7595

Hope you enjoyed my new craft area….and my hubby’s “labor of love”…

And I also want to give a shout out to Kristi of Addicted2decorating….she just took my blog from “free WordPress”..

…..to WordPress “self hosting”…She is great and was such a fantastic person to work with!!!

My new blog design should be completed by the end of the month too….

Have a wonderful day!

Shirley, we have so much of the same taste. My studio furniture is also the Martha Stewart collection from Home Decorators in the white. I used two of the 36″ tall craft tables put together for one big square craft area and I love them. I also see you have lot of Longaberger baskets. I have lots, too (I used to sell Longaberger!). Hope you are having a great week.

How do you like the furniture now? I’m wanting all of it. Not the wrapping hutch, I don’t think that would be utilized enough. But otherwise. Do you still like it?

My crafting space never looks as clean as yours. Love the Singer sewing machine table. I did something similar to one I had. On my way to find some of Martha’s storage pieces and craft furniture. Maybe one of these days my crating space will be clean and organized.

Is anyone else having this problem or is it a
issue on my end? I’ll check back later on and see
    if the problem still exists.
