Spring Vignette

Well, the bunnies have chased away the birds ….

…..and the bunnies have playfully settled on the table.

You may have noticed that I relocated my chalkboard print…

…..it was on the shelf above the stove…but I had to look up to enjoy it.

So I hung it “on” the mirror!

And if you want to know where the bunnies chased the birds off to….

…..they landed on the mantel.

Keeping the other bunnies company.

I added my “flower pot bunnies” that I have had forever…

….along with the bunny egg cups.

I have collected White House Easter Eggs…from past Easter Egg Rolls…

Each year the design changes…and colors are varied…

I love collecting “White House” memorabilia…I guess it is the “patriot” in me…

My dad instilled in us kids, the “love of country”….I am such a “flag waver”…

And it is such a “wonderful world/country”….

I am hooked on Jennifer’s (Dear Lillie) chalkboard prints…

My hubby was wondering what I was doing with the command hook stuck to the mirror…

…..looking at me with that “I have two heads look”….

But after it was hung…he and I loved it!…I pass this table many times a day….

…..and it makes me smile!

The artful writing is just amazing….

I bought another bird’s nest (can’t have too many)..and another pair of faux boxwood topiary rounds…

…..the larger boxwood replaced the 2 small ones I had stacked on top of each other…

……….but then I decided to place one of the bunnies on top of the candlestick tucked into a bird’s nest.

I look for ways to embellish candlesticks other than using the typical candle…

This bunny has special meaning….

…..I was in Atlanta years ago…I dropped off my hubby at a client’s and I drove to one of my favorite shopping places.

It had a large TJ Maxx and Bombay Outlet and Calico Corners…

…..On that day, I noticed a change in the TJ Maxx…it was “TJ Maxx and More”…

When I entered the store, my jaw dropped…it was filled with the greatest home accessories…

…..I barely got through the store and the phone rang…”I’m ready, you can pick me up now!…uugghh!!..

Now that “store” is HomeGoods!…So basically the pretty ivory bunny was my first purchase from HomeGoods!

So here is the complete view of the Spring Vignette….

…..I am sure I will tweak it more in the next couple of weeks.

Have a wonderful day!!!

  1. Awwww I just love your chalkboard print too. Great saying for sure. I love it hung over the mirror, what a great spot. I heart anything with bunnies. I never knew I had such a weakness for these little critters. I did not tell you that when Suzie and I went to Charlotte that I found two of the bunny cupcake stands at PB. When I went up to pay for them the gal at the checkout said “where did these come from I thought we were sold out.” I said..”I don;t know but my good friend just blogged about them and I fell head over bunny tails for them.” ๐Ÿ™‚

    love your table. xxoo

  3. Look at you getting your Easter on. I love the vignette and your cute bunnies and collected eggs. I didn’t even know there are White House eggs.

  4. I love this Shirley! So springy and cheerful! I love Dear Lillie’s chalkboards too…she’s so talented. It looks perfect over the mirror, but my favorite are your White House eggs! Seriously, those are so cool! Those and your incredible Christmas cards from the White House are beyond fantastic. Someday I’ll get up to DC and see the National Mall. It’s been a dream of mine since middle school… I used to be really into politics and worked for a politician for a short period of time while I was studying political science…seems like a lifetime ago! I even got to meet Laura Bush…very cool. The political world would have eaten me alive ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Shirley, you have the best collections.

I never realized there were special eggs for each White House Easter egg roll. What an unusual and colorful collection. I love it.

Of course, I love the entire vignette. It is note perfect. Gorgeous!

And doesn’t every woman remember her first time…at Homegoods, that is.

  6. Isn’t that the way it always happens: You have JUST found exactly where you want to spend some time shopping and b-r-r-r-ring! The doggone phone rings and you’re busted! ๐Ÿ™‚ At least you will never forget where that bunny came from and you have a great “meet-cute” story to tell about it! I love what you’ve done on the mantel!!! I have yet to change mine out to Spring decor. Waiting for all the workers to get the heck out of my doggone house before I start dragging out anything fragile that they could accidentally break! I’m glad the Wonderful World sign worked out in its new location. You WANT to be able to enjoy your pretties without a lot of effort. I have nothing above my stove for that very reason! Hooray for your patriotic energy! Nothing wrong with that at all! I even stand and place my hand over my heart when the National Anthem is playing on television!!! How crazy is that??!?!!?!?! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Beautiful vignette as always! It definitely screams spring. I love the color that the eggs bring in… and I also love that you put your sign over the mirror. I would have never thought of doing that. Great inspiration!

  9. I never knew you could collect White House memorabilia!!! I love the eggs. I love the whole vignette. I know what you mean about the LOOK from the husband:):) I get it all the time, as soon as I pull out the camera:):) ESPECIALLY if he is cooking! XO, Pinky

  10. Those removable 3M things are great, at least as long as the item, like a picture velcroed to the wall, isn’t too heavy. I imagine you get a great seal on glass or a mirror! Either way, I love the chalk print on the mirror! Happy spring!

  11. I love your bunnies in the pots, Shirley! This whole vignette you put together says Spring is almost here. Although we are supposed to be getting some significant snow later today, so I guess we have to wait a bit longer here in Ohio. I just found out a TJ Maxx and Home Goods are going into a new outdoor mall being built about 5 minutes from my house. I’m so excited since the closest one right now is almost half an hour away.

  23. Pam Standley says

I don’t know, but I think this is my favorite little place in your house. The chalkboard saying happens to be my favorite song in the world and it looks so beautiful on that mirror. Everything is just so well put together, it’s perfect. I just love your creativity.

  24. Tardevil says

Thank the Lord TJ Maxx & More became Home Goods!!! Your Easter vignette is so pretty. I love the chalk art. I had no idea you could collect the White House eggs. We are passing through there over Easter weekend, so I wonder if my kids could go to that….you have got me to thinking! ;o) I was looking at the posts linked to the bottom of this one, and I saw that gorgeous green stained glass you had in your foyer in January. Was that a recent find, and if so did they have any more? I LOVE the green in the windows! It is absolutely gorgeous, and I would love to buy one similar to it, if I could find one. You find the best stuff!

    • The stained glass was over the mantel before and when we purchased the iron and wood shutters, we placed those over the living room mantel and relocated the stained glass to the foyer. The stained glass came from an antique shop in Mt. Dora…a Valentine’s present about 15 years ago!

  25. Donnamae says

Shirley, you do know how to put a vignette together! Very nice…can’t see where you could change things out, but if you are Ike me, you’ll find something! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love your collection, and your happy, happy vignette! Your moss bunnies are two cute … I love Jennifer’s chalk board prints, too, and, I love that your birds flew on over to the mantel! Your home is gorgeous, as always!

Hi! I am so glad to “happen across” your blog/decore information, thank you!! LOVE the moss bunnies, I did not notice any mention where you purchased those, or do you sell them? Also love the saying, it is my phone ring tone and would like to purchase also, if available. Is it from, Dear Lillie’s chalkboards, I believe someone mentioned? Is that just google “Dear Lillie’s chalkboards”? Thanks so much. You have a “great eye!!” for decorating!! Bev
