EVER SO CLEVER…EVER SO PRETTY…Friday Series, #1 {Moss Covered Monogrammed Wreath}

Welcome to my first “Ever So Clever, Ever So Pretty” series….

…..I am always in awe of the many clever and talented bloggers…

I am always saying…”that is really a great project..I really need to do that”!…but do I do it…??

…..sometimes!

So this series will force me to “just do it”….

This week has been hectic with many things happening…like preparing for the opening of my antique booth…

So I chose a pretty simple, but great project!

The inspiration comes from two bloggers….11 Magnolia Lane and My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia...and a blogger’s sister.. Common Ground

Here are their projects that inspired me…

My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia…

So here I go…making my version of the moss covered monogram…

I decided to incorporate the monogram in a wreath.

Supplies…Grapevine wreath…sheet moss…wooden letter.

Now you are probably wondering why I am not using my new craft table…?!!…

…..It’s because it is filled with things to take to my booth!…making tags!

DSC_8124

I bought a regular grapevine wreath…but I prefer the ones that are wispier…but they are more expensive…

…..so I take my wire cutters and snip at the vines

So clip and pull the vines away…you can get that “wispy” look without the “wispy” price!

I then proceeded to cover the wood monogram with the sheet moss…using a glue gun.

Ta da!!!…I “just did it”…

DSC_8135

I hung it below the mantel…It may eventually go onto the shutters above the mantel…

I glued moss to the tips of the vines…

You “oh so clever” thing you. What a smart idea to make a whisper wreath too. Love it. I think it adds to your Springy mantel. I know you are both anxious and excited about Monday but you will be GREAT!! Can’t wait to see it.

Very pretty, Shirley! Did you cover the letter with moss then cut the moss off? This is a perfect project for Spring.

You go, girl!!!! I was just looking up at the “N” hanging on the wall of my office. No idea how I would hang that bad boy, but I love the idea! You did a great job! Great tip on going all Edward Scissorhands on the grapevine wreath for that wispy look, too! Different subject: I need to convince my husband that we should position our television the way you have yours in that room. Right now the sofa is turned toward HIS focal point…the TV. I want it turned toward MY focal point…the fireplace. We could have the best of both worlds if we just move the doggone TV! Plus we could gain more space by moving the armoire in there to a different location. Not sure I can win this battle, but I’m going to throw down the gauntlet and see what happens. 🙂

I love it! Great idea with making your own wisps on the vine wreath. I’ve been wanting to make a moss monogram too… but because the family last name starts with O I thought it would look odd…worried it would just look like a circle. Seeing Common Ground’s O has changed my mind… I just need to find an O that’s not so round.

That is such a great project! I love how that turned out. I never thought to make the grapevine wreath wispy like that. Good idea! That would also look cute on your front door or even a back door.

I know I ask this all the time, but…where do you find the time? You are constantly doing these wonderful things along with living your life. You are just amazing. Using the moss reminds me of when I went to your neighborhood garden club and made bunnies for Easter. Thanks for the tip on wispy grapevine wreaths! You are so smart. Love your happy blogs.
