Happy St. Patrick’s Day To Our Birthday Girl

St. Patrick’s Day was always very special in our family….

Part of my dad’s heritage was Irish…

…..my sister has been busy tracing our family’s roots.

And come to find out, that we are DAUGHTER’S OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION!!…

Turns out that our great-great-and more great grandfather fought in the Revolutionary War…..

…..and after the war, he acquired land from guess who?!!….Patrick Henry!!

Good thing it wasn’t Benedict Arnold!

All those years of writing those essays sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution…

…..wishing that we were actually a part of this wonderful group..

……….and my sister actually winning this essay contest…

Who knew??!!!

Yes, our family is full of wonderful writers.

My aunts on my dad’s side were all redheads…redheads with beautiful steel blue eyes…and freckles.

…..one of my sisters got some of that red hair and freckles (the one who won the essay).

So when I found this St. Patrick’s Day fairy…I had to smile and remember my aunts.

And when those “Irish Eyes Are Smiling”…

…..THIS GIRL STEALS MY HEART AWAY!!!

She was born on St. Patrick’s Day….I know there was some “divine intervention” going on!

Happy Birthday to my Sweetie!!

I have been so blessed to be able to spend every birthday with her…

Like this one at her 2nd Birthday….

So Happy Birthday to my Little Leprechaun…!!!

…..and a “Daughter of the American Revolution”…Love saying that!!!

And a Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all of you!!!

…..and a thank you to Dear Lillie for giving us the opportunity to purchase your gorgeous chalkboard prints!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

What a lovely and fun post to read first thing this a.m. My St. Patrick’s Day memory is bringing home our second son on that day 32 years ago! And I’ve got a bit of Ireland in my history, too. County Cork.

Gray is growing up way too quickly! Happy birthday darlin’! And don’t forget that I was the first “sis” to win the DAR essay contest in the fourth grade followed by Betty Ann and then Chrissy!

And I never entered that essay contest…but then again, we could not have called it winning the “Triple Crown” of essay contests…Quadruple Crown just doesn’t sound right….
