Hanging Vintage Scale and High Point Market Tidbits

It’s been a whirlwind these past several days…

…..I had the great opportunity to attend the High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina….

……….where I had a fantastic time with some terrific fellow blogger friends.

I want to thank Amy for coordinating this incredible event.

So back to “normal” or something close to that!

There’s a new scale in the sunroom….I found it at Melville Trading Company in Mebane, NC

It was a fantastic deal at $42.00 and it also came with a zinc scoop!

DSC_9391

When I saw this scale, I knew exactly where I wanted to hang it1

As many of you already know, I had a houseguest for the High Point Market…

…..and she brought me wonderful gifts that were perfect for the sunroom!

DSC_9392

They went perfectly with the color of the frame of the scale!!

DSC_9387

Kim gave me these great vintage garden tools!

DSC_9386

Just love the patina and color!

And here we are at the High Point Market…

From left to right:

Suzy (Worthing Court), ME, Rhoda (Southern Hospitality), Amy (Atta Girl Says), Kim (Savvy Southern Style),

…..Kristen (Sophia’s Decor) and Courtney (FrenchCountry Cottage)

I have met everyone previously with the exception of Courtney…

…..this group was so much fun to be with!!

Barb with The Everyday Home was part of our group…her dad was taken ill and she went home to be with him.

DSC_9282

And talking about fun…here is Kim and Kristen…Kristen adoring and petting the cow…

…..Did you know that Kristen was the “Dairy Princess”…? and she spent her childhood living on a dairy farm….

……….and you all pretty much know how much Kim loves cows.

DSC_9283

There were many things at the Market that were definitely inspired by bloggers…

…..such as yard stick items.

I so love these yard stick lanterns…Need to try my hand at this!

DSC_9305

We also went and shopped stores in the town of High Point…they were incredible, and so were the prices!

These olive buckets were in great abundance.

DSC_9303

And guess who was shopping at the same place that we were?!!

…..Michael Groover..Paula Dean’s hubby…He was so nice and some of us were able to get pictures with him!

……….Paula was in the truck waiting for Michael…She was one of the keynote speakers at the Market.

I had the most wonderful experience and I so look forward to the next Market!

Thanks for visiting me and have a beautiful day!!

Wow! What a great time, Shirley. Wish I could have been there! Did Haven already come and go, or is that next month? My trips are limited, right now, as I get the shop and myself into a routine. I’ve been to a couple of West coast shows, but know that High Point and the Atlanta market are the creme de la creme!
I hope Barb’s dad is doing ok. Such a tough time!
    Take care,
    Barbara

Your sunroom is looking very sunny and “gardeny” (if that’s a word)and most of all, always cheery, like you! Great buy on that scale, too. Can’t wait to sit with you and sip a glass of wine. Glad you had a great time with your fellow bloggers at High Point.

I love the hanging scale you found! I once saw one of those for sale near me close to $100! That was a great deal. I loved getting to see pics from your weekend adventure. I recognized Paula’s husband immediately! How about that? I didn’t know you got to see Paula Deen in person too. You lucky girl! I’m a huge fan of hers. Looks like y’all had a great time together.

remember how big the place was and how much walking, but also how much
laughing and fun we had togeher. Know all of you had a blast! I am
looking forward to the May 11 event to renew some friendships. My blog
is slowly coming together. It’s lots of work! Love the new look of your

This looks like a very fun time. Our first driving trip to Maine we stopped at High Point and found a couple of things for our then unfurnished home. What a great place to wish! You’ve done a great job, Shirley, connecting with fellow bloggers. That makes online friendships become real

I have scale envy Shirley, it’s wonderful! Looks like a fun time at HP. I’ve been there a few times but mainly shopped in Atlanta. Shopping there always made me want to toss everything out and start from scratch, every April & October ๐Ÿ™‚
