Last Sunday, I went to Lucketts…to attend the Spring Market and go the the Hometalk Meetup.
I had such a wonderful time.
Next door to the Hometalk booth, was the booth of Marian, a.k.a., Miss Mustard Seed.
I purchased a couple of great items from Marian and also got this week’s “blogger inspiration”
Can you guess the inspiration piece?
It is this!…
When I saw this piece, I knew I should try and paint a ceramic trophy cup I purchased from Target.
Using my Valspar Chalkboard paint…I brushed on two coats…
And here is my version…
I did a little vignette change to this table..bringing in a couple of toleware pieces.
Added a cloche atop a silver compote with a bird’s nest to the vignette…
Hope you enjoyed my inspiration piece that I received from Marian (Miss Mustard Seed) today…
May you all have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Very cute. Your mug was ideal for replicating MMS’s piece. Pretty table too. Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. xxoo

LOVE it, Shirley! I saw those trophy vases at Target and it never occurred to me to paint one with chalkboard paint. Genius!

Oh my goodness! I just love this vignette! At first I gasp at the thought of you painting a vintage silver trophy 🙂 never occurred to me that it was some other material. I adore toleware and always looking for ways to use mine so this will inspire me to put together something similar. Thanks.
Love it. I knew you were going to copy that piece. I could feel it. lol
Love the vignette. Have I told you lately that you are the Queen? LOL!! And I may use your inspiration if I can find that vase at my Target. Super cute idea! Getting ready to clean the house after our vacation and hoping to do some rearranging of some of my table top vignettes (not my forte). Have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend.
Love it, Shirley! I also love your cloche. It all comes together to make a very pretty vignette.

Taking something ordinary and turning it into something special is what you have done here. The entire vignette is terrific, and my special favorite is adding the cloche.
Beautiful design… Great ideas…
I know trophies are all the rage right now and I have one myself. I like your version too. The black chalkpaint is such a unique idea so you can write on it. It has so much personality now.
