Ever So Clever, Ever So Pretty Friday #16, Patriotic Flower Pot and Vignette

Happy Friday everyone!

Today, my inspiration comes from that oh so creative Rosemary, who blogs at Villabarnes.

I marvel at her talents.

I started to create a Patriotic Vignette and needed a flower pot for the occasion…

…..I then thought of what Rosemary did in a past project.

Here is the result of her inspiration.

And here is Rosemary’s beautiful creation:

Rosemary used this wonderful script tissue to cover this box..

DSC_0727

I gathered my Mod Podge and some “patriotic” napkins that I had…

…..and mod podged away…

DSC_0730

I felt like the “patriotic” flower pot was a perfect compliment to my folk art Uncle Sam Bunny.

I used to go to Country Living Craft Fairs long ago…loved collecting original folk art.

Most of them are signed by the artist.

Such as this great “Lady Liberty” birdhouse

Washington, D.C. is one of my very favorite places to visit…

DSC_0757

A very good friend of ours went to the White House to receive a prestigious award…

…..from William Bennett…It was a Rose Garden ceremony….

……….I was so envious that our dear friends got to actually go to the White House Rose Garden.

So, to console my envy…they brought me back something that was given to them…

…..a box of M&M’s that were served on Air Force One…yay!!..

I added my “Lady Liberty” postcard to the vignette.

DSC_0743

I placed a candle in the hurricane and embellished it with ribbon.

DSC_0744

Added a row of, believe it or not, napkin rings to the bottom of the hurricane….

…..and topped with ribbon.

You may have already realized that this wonderful chalkboard print came from Dear Lillie.

I added this banner to the baskets on the bottom shelf.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Friday series…

We will be having a Anniversary Celebration weekend…

…..celebrating our 43rd…(we got married when we were 2) 🙂

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Happy 43rd anniversary Shirley, we will celebrate our 43rd on December 26, so we were all just babes when we got married! Great little mod podge pot, I bought some mod podge last year for a project so I wouldn’t have anything to buy for a project like this one. Love, love the chalkboard print. I’ll check those out. Enjoy the Fourth.

Love it…so festive and patriotic. I don’t know where my box of M and Ms is. Maybe lost in one of our many moves since that wonderful visit to the White House. I bought the same banner at World Market…smart minds think alike! Wishing you and Tom a very happy anniversary. BTW great picture of the two of you.

HUGE congratulations on your anniversary, Shirley! Forty-three years is nothing to sneeze at! That’s fabulous!!! Best wishes for many, many more wonderful years!

Your patriotic vignette is really cool. The chalkboard art is the fabulous focal point surrounded by lots of neat things that bring it all to life. Your Modge Podge creation is great, and I like how you brought some organic-looking things into the whole look. Very nice! The Air Force One M&Ms are pretty slick! What a neat keepsake!

    Enjoy your anniversary weekend!

Shirley, it is fun to see your patriotic folk art pieces. I too have a fondness for these pieces. Most of mine are Uncle Sam, but have added Lady Liberty when I can. The red, white, and blue makes my heart sing. Love that cute whirly gig rabbit! Congratulations on your anniversary and Happy 4th of July! ~ Sarah
