A vignette does not remain the same very long on a table around here…
…..is that a sign of some kind of “attention deficit” in decor?
Is there a name for that syndrome….a cure or therapy?
Well, if there is, I shall take a pass on that cure…
…..as I love moving things about!
I started out with the vignette in my dining room.
These Pottery Barn Leah Taper candlesticks…
…..and PB Tuscan urns were previously on a table in my great room.
They happily found their way into the dining room.
Happily set against the background of a piece of antique “gingerbread”…
This was the before…I have a pair of these metal covered urns..
…..they will find a new home soon!
These urns seemed to be the perfect compliment to the “gingerbread” piece…
…..I so love the chippy paint.
My hubby scraped most of the loose paint and sealed it with lacquer…
…..to prevent further chipping.
I guess you can say that I am going for a more “monochromatic” look…
So love the way the urns go so well with the color and texture of this piece…
…..really love mixing architectural pieces in my decor.
I had this plant stand next to one of my bookcases in the great room…
It was replaced by a larger Pottery Barn Tuscan Urn with a faux topiary.
This urn was purchased at the PB outlet recently.
I really love this change…
…..that coordinates so nicely with my white decor in the bookcase.
So…are you wondering where the plant stand “landed”…
In the “landing” of the staircase…
Now this area is going to be undergoing a bit of a “makeover” soon…
The room is evolving slowly…trying to change out my “jewel tones” from 8 years ago…
…..to a lighter palette.
Thanks for visiting and have a most wonderful day!!!

It looks great, Shirley!
I love that old ladder.
Shirley, your changes look great! I guess we are kinda on the same wavelength…I just posted about neutralizing my color palette a little, too! You always have such pretty vignettes and accessories. Pottery Barn just gets us all in trouble…lol! Everything looks so pretty!
I love your new chippy piece as a backdrop to your chippy PB pieces. I don’t think it is a disorder you have. If you do I do, too. ๐
Shirley, love the changes you made and that urn with the topiary is beautiful. We don’t have a PB outlet near us so I wait for the sales. Great choices.
Cynthia
Beautiful, Shirley! I always love to see how you set up vignettes! Have a great week!!~~Angela
Great minds think alike. As you know, I have totally gone neutral in our great room. Love the idea of just adding color with pillows and candles. And on our retirement budget, redecorating is so much more budget friendly that way. I think you will find these changes more calming, too. And who wouldn’t appreciate that in their busy life!!
I suffer from the same attention disorder! LOL… I think change is my middle name! Those candleholders with the pots look great. Love the gingerbread piece! I have been struggling to come up with a new wall color for my room. I have a golden/yellow wall color and while it looks great I’m tired of it after 7 years. I’m interesting to see what you come up with.
It all looks so pretty, Shirley! I still have some jewel tones in my house as well. It takes awhile to make all the changes, doesn’t it?! I suppose once I’m done getting everything lighter and brighter it will be time to do something else – lol! But, we would be bored if it always stayed the same, wouldn’t we? ๐ Have a great Monday!
Julie
Beautiful changes Shirley! I have the same urn from PB it’s now on my kitchen table with fresh clippings from the garden in it.
Have a great week:)
Beautiful Shirley! It is the little things that really make a room. BTW, I just had my Blogger blog switched over to WP by Kristi, thanks to your recommendation. I have a lot to learn but am excited. Blessings, Patti
Okay, I’ll admit, I too have that decor/change/redecorate obsession and I don’t want a cure, my brain just works that way, what can I say; TFS, your home is lovely, Love & Blessings to you/yours…
Looks beautiful! I would never think of placing the urns on the candle sticks. Why don’t you come to Texas and help me get this new place in order? ๐
xo

Hi Shirley! Oh, everything looks so pretty! Heck, everything you do turns out wonderful. I’m a fan for sure.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ๐
Hi Shirley,
I love the spiral topiary in the Pottery Barn jug! Perfect!
Lately I have found some architectural pieces ( at thrifts) to add in to my inside decor!

Shirley, everything looks terrific. I like the direction you are going.
Have a great week.

Hi Shirley,
That gingerbread piece looks so striking in front of your window and that was a great idea of your husband’s to seal the piece. Those Tuscan urns are just gorgeous, especially the one with the topiary in it. And you found just the perfect place for your little table and arrangement! Hope you have a great week!
Shirley, I definitely have that ‘disorder’ too! I really love the new look of the topiary in the urn! I’m always drawn to neutrals with a bit of greenery, and architectural elements, too ๐
Susan
Love the vases – but that piece of gingerbread needs to make its way to my house!

I love the lighter, more monochromatic color. So peaceful! Everything looks great! I like that you move things around…inspires me to do the same!
I love those jars. Beautiful vignettes, here there and everywhere!
Omigosh I love those urns!!!!!!!!! They look fabulous in your home too.
Brilliant buy!!!
Chippy Love! Your PB urns look wonderful paired with your chippy gingerbread trim Shirley! And your table and arrangement found the perfect home in your landing!
Great vision… Love how you take an item & do so much with it…
How fun! I love those kinds of days when I just move stuff around, trying out new looks! And YES…there is a word for that disorder…I have it too……it’s ADHGTV…I’m sure of it…diseases are often named for the cause behind them…you can trust me, I’m a nurse….
I love, LOVE the chippy PB urns!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I had had time to go to the PB outlet last week when I met Yvonne for lunch. Sadly, had to get home. Love the topiary next to the built in cabinet too. Did you make the arrangement that is on the plant stand? I love it. Have a GREAT week!!! XO, Pinky
I’ve always loved those PB urns and have had my hand on them many times! They are perfect in your home … how cool that you placed them on candlesticks, too! And, I love the tall topiary in the larger PB urn! You’re NOT alone when it comes to “attention deficit” decorating … happens ALL the time around here! LOL
Everything looks so pretty Shirley. I’m just terrible about not moving things around like I should. In fact, I was looking back at blog pictures and realized some things have been the same for a year!! Must do better.
The urns work perfectly with the gingerbread. I LUV that vignette.
The chipped paint ladder is perfection! Me wanty ๐
When all is said and done, my favorite palette is neutrals, but it MUST have texture. You seem to be heading in that direction and it’s just gorgeous!
Ya know, even though I’m in NY, I don’t remember ever coming across a PB outlet. I need to look into that!
Hi Shirley, beautiful vignette. I love those PB urns and the candlsticks. I have a large jug with handles from the same Pottery Barn line and I love it.
Pleasure to browse your lovely home photos too.
Enjoy your day,
Lisa
I LOVE the Pottery Barn urns. I’m constantly moving things around too. It makes life more interesting!
