it's all about the hospitable home

Birdcage Vignette

I am slowly making some small changes in my master bedroom…

I have a dresser that has a “matchy” mirror.

I tried to “hide” that fact by placing a large birdcage in front of the dresser.

Housepitality Designs

It did the trick..but it was time for a change.

Housepitality Designs

This area seemed to be the perfect fit.

Housepitality Designs

I bought this birdcage a few years ago at our neighborhood yard sale.

It actually has two additional sections that you can add to the bottom portion.

Housepitality Designs

I added an orchid from Trader Joe’s to the vignette and placed it in a vintage American Fostoria vase.

Housepitality Designs

The Leah Hurricane from Pottery Barn remains on the table…

Housepitality Designs

In the morning when the sun is shining through the windows…

…..there are beautiful little reflections of rainbow colors on the wall.

Housepitality Designs

They are from my Swarovski Crystals that hang in my windows..

Housepitality Designs

I so enjoy this “mini light show” every morning…just starts the day off on a happy note!

And I hope your day started out on a happy note too!!!

It looks gorgeous, Shirley. This reminds me I have several birdcages downstairs. They are dark brown. I should paint them. I love your white cage.

That is a beautiful birdcage, Shirley! I have seen some lovely ornate ones recently, but they were a bit rich for my budget {even at an estate sale and a fellow vendor where I have my booth}. Plus, I don’t have room for a big one. I do have two that I love. I just put a fern {still alive!} inside the one in our sunroom.

Shirley, I found a big bird cage similar to yours at a garage sale for $15.00, boy did I grabbed that quick. I like how you painted it white. think and I will paint mine as it is a ugly green color.
Love the crystal sparkles on the wall. Your vignette is fabulous.
    Have a Happy Day!

I love your wreath….did you make it? I have garland from HobLob that matches your wreath and I am currently using it to make a wreath.

As always, very pretty. I think I like it better in its new location close to your sunroom. Do I detect a little paint job on the pineapple sconces?

The mirror looks nice in it’s new location. The bird cage works perfectly in your home with all of your other nature inspired décor too.

That birdcage was a fabulous find Shirley! You’re fortunate to have not one but two places it will work.

The light the crystals make is stunning! At our rental, we have a little peep hole in the front door, and believe it or not it makes a rainbow light across the hall on the wall. Very cool.

The white birdhouse is so pretty. I remember selling a dark one that I now wish I’d kept and painted since I’ve seen yours.

I especially like the wreath on the mirror. Is it a faux boxwood wreath?

    Many thanks for your response.
