The morning after I returned from my fabulous trip from France…
…..my neighborhood was holding their annual Fall yard sale.
Even though I had just a few hours sleep….
…..my friend Merry and I set out to find some treasures.
I was quick enough to be able to get this great antique tool caddy..
I filled it with faux Fall florals that I had on hand..
…..and a few pumpkins that I bought at the Farmers’ Market.
I just love the inscription on the bottom of the caddy…
“Made by H.N. Walker about 1894…Presented to M.A.F. 1934”
I so love the color of this caddy….
And I just realized that I purchased most of these faux Fall florals from the same friend….
…..at last year’s Fall Yard Sale! So you see why she is the first house I visit!!!
I added this rusty iron pumpkin…a pumpkin that is so very special to me.
I purchased it many years ago….on one of our Fall trips to Abingdon, Virginia…
…..a trip that we would take with our friends…my dear friend Ruth who sadly passed away 6 weeks ago.
We loved scouring the shops in Abingdon and came across these pumpkins….
…..that we each bought.
I hope to go to Abingdon this Fall…to plant a memorial garden..
…..at the farmhouse she loved…the family farmhouse….the one she wanted to spend her retirement in.
I miss the phone calls…of her asking me how I did something she saw on my blog…
I can still hear her voice…
And I shall celebrate her life in the beauty of the Fall Season she so loved…
Hope you have a wonderful day….celebrating life and the beauty of Fall.
