Springtime in the Master Bedroom

The snow on the ground is almost melted . .

So on to taking off the “Winter Birds” bedding and adding happy flowers to the room.

The duvet cover and shams are Vanessa by Pottery Barn ~

~ ~ Euros and accent pillow are also Pottery Barn.

~ ~ ~ ~ the two “harlequin design” pillows are by Linda, Kristen’s mom.

The Vanessa bedding was formerly in the 2nd guest/craft room . . .

~ ~ where my cozy sitting area is now.

Orchids from my granddaughter for Valentine’s Day . . ๐Ÿ™‚

And my favorite faux silk yellow roses in a Greenbrier Resort Mint Julep cup . .

~ ~ an Anniversary souvenir.

Still more things to do in this room . . .

~ ~ like painting the area between the bedroom and the master bath.

And here is another “French Treasure”…a red Transferware pitcher.

Master Bedroom for Spring

I was going to wait till the end of February to change the bedding from Winter to Spring

~ ~ but I am glad I did it earlier . . .

Just before the snow melted!

Have a wonderful day!

  15. The room looks amazing and gives me hope that Spring is really coming! Not too sure here in New Jersey…It seems to be on constant SNOW!!!!! I am shocked when we don’t have it! The colors are delicious and the orchids…simply DIVINE!!!!!! Thank you for that cool breeze of Spring…I will hold onto the memory as I defrost : ) LOL!!! Sending hugs and wishes of blue birds and bright sun!

  16. Your bedroom is just gorgeous! You are so good about changing things for the seasons. I love the way your bed is over by the windows. Our room is shaped similarly but we have the bed against a wall.

It is actually starting to be springy here so I’m ready to make some changes too.

  17. Shirley,

  21. Your Spring bedding looks gorgeous, Shirley! I love your room, too-it is soft and soothing feeling! I WANT that transferware pticher! xo Diana

  22. Your bedroom looks so pretty! I love that bedding with your stylish mix of pillows. Those yellow roses look SO real. I had to re-read that they were “faux”! I love the shade of blue in your room mixed with that soft yellow. Such a pretty combination.

  23. Gorgeous Shirley! I decided that today is the start of spring in my house too… hoping that our weather will continue to cooperate with that decision. I love that transferware pitcher… beautiful!

  24. Yep, you are ready for spring. Now if the weather will just cooperate you will be in good shape. I’m heading to Maine tomorrow where it snowed about 6″ today. Thursday it is supposed to rain, so it will probably turn to slush.

  25. Seriously wouldn’t have guessed those yellow roses to be silk! They are really good quality!

Your bedroom is divine, dahling!!! It looks very restful. The colors you’ve chosen really take that feeling a long way. I like the positioning of the bed, too. I’d like to re-position ours, but it would take an act of Congress since the most important thing in there to Ramon is the TV!!! All that re-wiring would be a nightmare! We have an “old people’s bed” that raises and lowers since we both have shoulder and back issues. Believe me…it NEEDS to be re-positioned so that we can bring out the best in it…whatever that may be! ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it’s a great thing to get those Spring-like linens and accessories going now. We all need something to help us recover from the lousy winter we’ve been subjected to!

  26. So cheery and lovely, Shirley! The orchids are perfection — your grand has magnificent taste. ๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoy your day!
    xo Heidi

  30. Beautiful and so fresh! I love your bed tucked into the bay window area! Your sweet granddaughter has excellent taste, too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  35. It’s so pretty… Another wonderful design…

  36. Wos! What a beautiful master bedroom..I love that Duvet cover and shams..Do you have the paint color/brand available. It is such a soft and pleasing color..We too have the dark cherry furniture like you but our headboard is a little bit different. At our house, our master bedroom was much larger than where we live now..Were your lamps always white or did you spray paint them like a lot of the bloggers do? Looking at your room has given me much inspiration and I’m printing a copy of it to take with me shopping..Now to find a Pottery Barn store because the one I know in the area, they are tearing the entire shopping center down. I’d like to see it in person and then I can order it online..Love those beige pillow with the diamond design on them.

Is a duvet used in place of a comforter?
Thanks for sharing pictures of your Master suite with us. It is beautiful! I took a lot of inspiration form it.
