Previously, I showed you all the new hutch in the kitchenette . .
There was an antique pie safe in that spot . . .
~ ~ so it had to be relocated.
You know, my “changes in latitude . .. changes in attitude” . .
My hubby said there was no space left!!!..Ah, I now had a “challenge”!!
Can you guess where it landed?
Yep!…in the sunroom!
Since the sunroom has a “garden feel” to it . . .
~ ~ I decided to place my vintage flower pots and garden tools in the pie safe.
The vintage garden tools were a gift from my great friend and fellow blogger Kim . . .
~ ~ ~ and the great “Shirley” seed packets were also a gift . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ from my friend and fellow blogger, Mary.
I placed a dried flower wreath on the door that was a gift from my dear friend . .
~ ~ I have had this for over 20 years!…I know she is looking down and smiling . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ and saying “you still have that” !!!
My collection of tole trays add some great color . .
~ ~ to the “all white” vignette on the pie safe.
So I won the challenge!…now I have to ask my hubby what my prize is!!! 🙂
~ ~ most likely a good “atta girl” !!
Have a wonderful day!!

I love the pie safe in there being used to house garden items. That was such a good idea! I love how you styled it for that room. Men should never challenge a woman to do anything. We usually find a way. LOL!
I love it in that spot and perfect styling. What was there before?
I love how you are always moving things around in your home..there is always something lovely to look at. My husband always asks me when I am buying something “where are you going to put that” only to be followed with ” I know exactly where’s it’s going. Why do they even ask..ha ha. I love the tole trays they are beautiful!
Shirley, what a perfect spot for your gorgeous piece! Just goes to show, where there’s a will, there’s a way! 🙂

What fabulous changes- I love your collection of tole trays! We have similar pie safes too. I love your ideas for styling it. You have turned this room into a Spring wonderland! It’s so bright and welcoming! I know your friend is smiling down on you to see her cherished wreath displayed! Husbands, your’s sounds like mine!
Shirley, love your pie safe and your tole trays are gorgeous! I have one very similar that we bought at an auction years ago. I’ve had it in almost every room in the house! Looks nice in your sunroom. Hope we get some sunshine in NC very soon!!!
Just brilliant. Looks awesome in the sun room. Beautiful.
Kris
Love the gardening decor in the pie safe…………………..a lot less calories!!!
Loving the Spring
look of your house and booth in Mebane!
Your antique pie safe is beautiful…no wonder you’d find a place for it! I adore the whole display on that wall…the garden tools, vintage planters, black tole trays and vignette on top of the cupboard!!! Absolutely delightful!

Love love that room! The red bird cage is adorable.
The perfect spot indeed! Love the trays over it.
oh this is absolutely perfect, Shirley!! Love all your garden goodies showcased in your pie safe. Like I say, where there’s a will to find a spot, there’s a way to find a spot, especially when it comes down to vintage pieces!
What a great new way to use your pie safe, Shirley! I love the gardening theme you went with. Do you get a pat on the back with that “atta girl”? : )
This is so pretty with all the accessories inside. What a great spot for that pie safe.
Cynthia
Isn’t it funny how, when after you make the change, you wonder why you didn’t think of positioning a piece where it settles any earlier? I think that pie safe in the sunroom is perfect – love your vintage pots. Little did the pie safe know its real purpose was not for the kitchenette, after all, but for the garden items!
I love the way you always find a spot for something. I am always saying I like that, but have no place to,put it.
I was wondering if your wreath was a gift from Ruthie.
Barb
Yes it was Barb!…
A perfect place for your pie safe! It looks beautiful!~~Angela
Wasn’t the bast challenge Tom ever made. Hasn’t he learned by now that you always find a spot? And it’s sometimes even better than the first one. Great job. It looks lovely there.
It’s perfect there, Shirley! I love how you styled it. 🙂
Hi Shirley, I love your pie safe and the fact that you have kept it’s natural color and not painted it. It looks wonderful holding all your vintage gardening tools. Love the look.
Thanks for sharing; it is perfect for spring.
Hugs,
Noreen

I love the pie safe in the sunroom, I think that is where it was meant to be. My hubby is always asking me where am I going to put something. He should know after 40yrs I have a place already in mind. I shop Mebane and Burlington. May I ask where is your booth?
Perfect location Shirley and you have it decorated beautifully.
Sandy

The wall color is Sherwin Williams Blonde…thanks!
Oh, I LOVE that pie safe!!!! Love the vintage gardening things too, lucky you!!!! Maybe one day I will get to see that gorgeous home of yours in person! THAT would be a treat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shirley, I think I have found a kindred spirit in you. With this post, I was drawn in by the pie safe because my hubby’s 92 year old grandmother Shirley has a pie safe in her garage that has been used to store oil cans, etc. for years. I have told her that I would clean it up and move it indoors for a pantry for her but she doesn’t take the bait. I covet that pie safe and love yours too. As I was looking around your pictures, I noticed your curtains, I love those too. So I will be spending time on your blog to see more! Come by and see mine, I think you will know what I am talking about.
