For many of us, we had a break this weekend . . .
~ ~ a break from rain and cold.
However, it started again on Sunday . . rain and cold.
Today was beautiful with a cloudless Carolina blue sky . .
I can only dream of flowers that will come . . .
Like the ones in my back yard last Summer . .
Or the ones that were on my front porch in the Fall.
But for now, I have to enjoy these:
Flowers from the grocery store . .
And flowers from a sister, “just because”….
And if you want to see some of the rooms these flowers are in . . .
Hop on over to Katherine’s Corner as she is featuring me today!
Have a wonderful day!!

Shirley, hopefully we’ll all see some flowers outside soon! Yours look beautiful!
Congrats on your feature-I’m headed over to see ๐

Those are beautiful and soon all the cold will be just a memory.
A beautiful yard!! We are having a cold rain today and tomorrow, then hopefully spring will come. I always enjoy your posts!!
We all hope that spring is just around the corner , weather wise that is. Love your beautiful property!!
You have a beautiful home and the setting is gorgeous! Your flowers are lovely! On my way to see your feature; congrats!
So tired of the cold…..I thought this was supposed to be North Carolina!
The tulips are lovely ( fingers crossed mine will make it through the heavy frost we just received). Your flowers make me smile especially knowing they were a “just because” gift. Thank you for your continued bloggy friendship and for being my guest today xo
Grocery store flowers are better than none and are sometimes prettier than the ones from our yards. As for weather, it’s crazy. I had to turn the heat back on yesterday!
I can’t wait to see some flowers here, Shirley! I will know that Spring has really arrived once I see some daffodils.
i hope you have a great day too. crazy weather
Beautiful! I love the landscaping too. Congrats on your feature!!
xox
Shirley, the outside photos of your home are absolutely stunning!!!! This has been the craziest winter that I can remember since we’ve lived in Northern Virginia. I’m sitting with my coffee watching more snow come down!

Good morning, Shirley,
Your entry and backyard are gorgeous. I love the scalloped, manicured landscaping. What a lovely porch and it looks so inviting.
Have a great week,
Lisa
Shirley your home always looks so great. I love the hanging ferns..you are such a southern girl. I love it! Even though the ferns don’t flower I love the lush fullness the provide. I too hope the weather will warm up soon. Can’t wait to add some color to my window boxes. Cut flowers inside the house always make you feel good!
It’s been a long winter, hasn’t it?? My husband and I walked a Duke Forest trail on Saturday–the few beautiful days we’ve had have been really tantalizing! And here we are with another gray day today. Looks as if things will warm up just in time for us to be choking with pollen again!
Everything looks so inviting! We had a few warm spring day….to be followed by snow today! How crazy is this weather. ๐
Sheila
Congrats on the feature Shirley. I am headed over to see that now. Ohhhhhhh I love seeing your backyard pictures. I just want to sit and rock the day away back there! So pretty.
Kris
How beautiful Shirley! The landscaping is so gorgeous! My favorite part of our home (and yours and any other) are the porches and verandas to sit and sip lemonade on! Just love yours especially with the rocking chairs ๐
Will you come to Georgia and landscape my yard? PLEEAASSEE! You have a beautiful home and yard. Even if the flowers came from the store or from your sister, I’m still reminded that God cares for us even more than the beautiful flowers He creates. Congrats on the feature!
Thanks Jayne…I have to give the credit to my hubby…he does all of the yard work and planting…I just give him guidance!!! ๐
What a wonderful home and porch!
North Carolina and South are places we want to visit, maybe in May (our Niece lives in SC)….
You set a lovely vignette ….

I’m dreaming too Shirley. Just looked at our 10 day forecast and the low is 44 tonight but it goes up slightly from there. Pretty soon…pretty soon. ๐
I love receiving flowers, “just because”!
Loved your feature at Katherines Corner!!
Congratulations on the feature, Shirley. Your flowers are beautiful.
We had a beautiful, but cold weekend. It snowed here late yesterday, just flurries, but a few miles south there was a 6 car accident on a bridge due to freezing. They had more snow, but not a lot. A year ago we had a blizzard!
You always do a great job making the front and back of your house pretty with ferns and flowers. Today has been cold and windy. I feel like we’re going backwards towards Winter now!
I am looking at my SIL’s flowers and DREAMING of planting ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shirley- The back of your house is just absolutely gorgeous! I love it and the gardens are just beautiful. We still have a blanket of snow here and a high of 20 degrees today. It is crazy weather all the way around- xo Diana
Shirley, spring has been so slow in coming that if we didn’t have flowers in the house, we’d go crazy! Your home is stunning with its beautiful landscaping and your gorgeous flowers. Congrats on the feature-I’m headed over to read it! ๐
