A Series of Changes {Slipcovered Ottomans}

Well it’s official…

~ ~ I had to place my friend Linda (Kristen’s Mom) on the payroll.

I am truly keeping her busy these days on my sewing projects!

Today, you will see one of 4 projects she is doing for me . . .

Great Room

Great Room

I have three ottomans under my sofa table . .

Great Room

These ottomans along with the furniture are 9 years old…

~ ~ a little “ho hum” . . so definitely in need of a fresh new look!

Great Room Ottomans

Ta Da!…so what do you think?…

Great Room Ottomans

We debated about the length of the skirt . .

~ ~ however, it was unanimous . . .

~ ~ ~ ~ that having the shorter skirt “showing legs” would give it a more casual feel.

Great Room Ottomans

I love the fact that it is slipcovered . .

~ ~ so that you have the option of changing it out.

Great Room Ottomans

I am so happy with the new look!…thanks Linda!

Stay tuned for Project #2 . .

And, I had the pleasure of touring Linda’s home yesterday . .

~ ~ I can tell you that the apple does not fall too far from the tree…beautiful!

Have a most wonderful day!!!

Those look great! I bet you love the new look. That’s quite a sofa table- I never noticed how it was shaped.

I love the idea of using a slipcover! Why didn’t I think of this myself???? I love the new look. I ended up changing a bench at the end of my bed last year because I didn’t want to recover my existing piece of furniture. Hummmm……time to rethink that move!

Love those slipcovers! Would your seamstress be willing to give us the lowdown on this makeover? I have an ottoman my Siamese cats love to pick, so I just gave it to them, but I would love a slipcover to put over it when company comes. I bought a really cheap fabric shower curtain with beautiful print and want to use it for the project. What do you think?

I love the color of the fabric and the short skirt!! I LOVE that sofa table. Is it all one piece that is curved? Where did you find that?. I guess I never realized it was so long and curved!!!!!! Slip covers were a great idea too! Did you get pics of Linda’s house to share??????

Oh how lovely! I love that pop of color and it looks so nice with the blue in the little stool. Great job. It’s so nice to be able to refresh a mice piece of furniture. Can’t wait to see the rest.

YES, YES, and YES again!!!!!!!! Love the fabric, the length and the fact that you can switch up at will!!! This is EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting for my dining room chairs and the living room furniture!!! I wonder if there’s a “Kristen’s Mom” somewhere around here who can do as nice a job as this? ๐Ÿ™‚ My sister and niece both are talented seamstresses, but they are SO SLOW about getting anything done. My next-door-neighbor is a wiz with the needle & thread, too, but she’s waist deep in projects at her own house. GOTTA find someone to do this. It’s beautiful, Shirley!!!

Love the pop of color these give! I like slip covers because they are easy to change out for different looks and easy to clean. I have seen a couple of stools I want to get at a local store (hopefully they are still there) and recover them. I need some extra seating sometimes and they would be perfect, just like your ottomans.

love your slipcovered ottomans, showing the leg at that length is very flirty and if you have great legs, show them off.

Really nice fabric that adds to the movement of your angular sofa table.
