Well it’s official…
~ ~ I had to place my friend Linda (Kristen’s Mom) on the payroll.
I am truly keeping her busy these days on my sewing projects!
Today, you will see one of 4 projects she is doing for me . . .
I have three ottomans under my sofa table . .
These ottomans along with the furniture are 9 years old…
~ ~ a little “ho hum” . . so definitely in need of a fresh new look!
Ta Da!…so what do you think?…
We debated about the length of the skirt . .
~ ~ however, it was unanimous . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ that having the shorter skirt “showing legs” would give it a more casual feel.
I love the fact that it is slipcovered . .
~ ~ so that you have the option of changing it out.
I am so happy with the new look!…thanks Linda!
Stay tuned for Project #2 . .
And, I had the pleasure of touring Linda’s home yesterday . .
~ ~ I can tell you that the apple does not fall too far from the tree…beautiful!
Have a most wonderful day!!!

Those look great! I bet you love the new look. That’s quite a sofa table- I never noticed how it was shaped.
I love those slip covers. The fabric is so “happy.”
Sheila
Such a pretty pop of color, Shirley! I have a friend that I’m always having sew/make me things-ha! ๐
Susan
Cute, cute and love the fabric and skirt. She does fabulous work and I wish I lived close to her.
Yes…gorgeous…good choice! Did you take pics of Linda’s home? You know we love tours! ๐
I love the idea of using a slipcover! Why didn’t I think of this myself???? I love the new look. I ended up changing a bench at the end of my bed last year because I didn’t want to recover my existing piece of furniture. Hummmm……time to rethink that move!
Oh I LOVE the fabric you went with and they look absolutely beautiful!
Love those slipcovers! Would your seamstress be willing to give us the lowdown on this makeover? I have an ottoman my Siamese cats love to pick, so I just gave it to them, but I would love a slipcover to put over it when company comes. I bought a really cheap fabric shower curtain with beautiful print and want to use it for the project. What do you think?
I love the color of the fabric and the short skirt!! I LOVE that sofa table. Is it all one piece that is curved? Where did you find that?. I guess I never realized it was so long and curved!!!!!! Slip covers were a great idea too! Did you get pics of Linda’s house to share??????
Love the new slipcovers….the fabric is so beautiful and the shorter skirt looks wonderful too! Gorgeous living room……

Oh how lovely! I love that pop of color and it looks so nice with the blue in the little stool. Great job. It’s so nice to be able to refresh a mice piece of furniture. Can’t wait to see the rest.
YES, YES, and YES again!!!!!!!! Love the fabric, the length and the fact that you can switch up at will!!! This is EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting for my dining room chairs and the living room furniture!!! I wonder if there’s a “Kristen’s Mom” somewhere around here who can do as nice a job as this? ๐ My sister and niece both are talented seamstresses, but they are SO SLOW about getting anything done. My next-door-neighbor is a wiz with the needle & thread, too, but she’s waist deep in projects at her own house. GOTTA find someone to do this. It’s beautiful, Shirley!!!
oh what a fun difference….love it!!!!
Shirley, LOVE the new fabric on the ottomans! What a nice pop of color; and the pattern works so well with the other patterns in the room! Wish I had Linda here to do some slipcovers for the counter stools in the kitchen! I can’t wait to see what else you have in store!
Love, love the new slips Shirley! What a little jolt of colour can do for a room….the fabric is beautiful! I also love the sofa table, very unusual and lovely..N.xo
Great new look for your ottomans, Shirley! I like that you left leg showing. : ) Especially when they go so well with the table legs.
Oh my…. absolutely love them and a little leg ain’t so bad either.
What a great choice of fabric. They really punch up the room. Love them.
Oh Shirley those ottoman slipcovers are so pretty. I love them. They really give that pop of color. I like that you left some leg showing it just gives more character to the ottomans. They are really pretty and fun. Love them.

They look fabulous, Shirley. I love the fabric you chose. Just perfect. It adds a nice pizazz!
Those slipcovers make such a difference! It helps cover some of the legs of the ottomans since you already have a lot of legs on your sofa table. I like the pop of color you introduced too.
LOVE LOVE the new slipcovers Shirley…they look beautiful!! Can’t wait to see what else you’ve been up to!
Oh I just love the pattern and color of that fabric Shirley, your ottoman’s turned out beautifully, the skirt is perfect too, so so pretty! Can’t wait to see the next project!
Love that fabric! I bet you use those benches all the time, don’t you. So smart to slip cover them.
I like the slipcovers for the ottomans very much. Linda does a great job and I am looking forward to seeing more of her great slipcovers.
Looks great Shirley.
Oooh – I love them, Shirley! It totally brings your room to life!
Ooh, how pretty, Shirley. I love the new fabric and flirty little skirt. A little leg is good. ๐
Shirley,
What a great idea! A new look without buying new furniture–it’s a definite win-win! I love the color it adds to the room, and Linda did a great job. Thanks for sharing!
A very nice new look, indeed, and from what I can see of the other fabrics the chevrons are a perfect complement. I am continually amazed by how changes constantly occur in your home.
They look great Shirley!! I absolutely love the pop of color and pattern in that room! She’s a talented woman that mom of mine ๐ Yes, I plan on sharing her house in the next few weeks when I get over there and spend some time with my camera.
Wow! Love the pop of color and the pattern is awesome!~~Angela
Shirley, that is so cute! I love your new fabric…it’s such a fun look!
Love the pop of color these give! I like slip covers because they are easy to change out for different looks and easy to clean. I have seen a couple of stools I want to get at a local store (hopefully they are still there) and recover them. I need some extra seating sometimes and they would be perfect, just like your ottomans.
Oh yes a great change and after 9 years bring it on…….
Shirley these are so clever and I love the fabric. I also never thought of putting ottomans under sofa tables, aren’t you the clever one??? Just starting to catch up on emails.
Cynthia
I like the springy feel to it… Ver nice…
Those make such a great statement, the color and modern print are a perfect mix with your traditional pieces. Such a wonderul choice, Shirley!
Oh your skirted slip ottomans are fabulous Shirley! I love that they show a flirty bit of leg ๐
Love the slipcovers. They look fabulous. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me.
love your slipcovered ottomans, showing the leg at that length is very flirty and if you have great legs, show them off.
Really nice fabric that adds to the movement of your angular sofa table.
