Buffalo Checks in the Dining Room

Hello everyone!

I have been a bit M.I.A. recently . . .

~ ~ working on my projects for an upcoming event.

Today, I want to show you a bit of “buffalo” in the dining room . .

It all started with this:

Dining Room

Dining Room Bench

A pillow that my friend Linda made for me . . as a gift . . .

~ ~ with leftover fabric (from Ikea) from another project you will soon see.

And, I shall reveal on Monday, why a pillow of Linda’s is famous!!

French Linen

My inspiration also came from this French linen tea towel . .

French Linen

A tea towel that I purchased in France last year . .

~ ~ at a fabulous fabric store in Normandy.

Buffalo Check Valance

I needed a bit of a softening effect on the windows . . .

~ ~ however, did not want to obstruct our view and do not need privacy . .

~ ~ ~ ~ as no one can see us but the deer and maybe a golfer or two.

Dining Room

So again, Linda to the rescue!!…and she whipped up my valances in no time!

Dining Room

The colors of the fabric also go so well with the Pottery Barn side chairs.

Dining Room

I love the new look . .

~ ~ and glad that the windows have that “blown out look” . .

~ ~ ~ ~ as you would probably have seen the window washer!!

Wishing you all a great weekend and a Happy Easter!!!

Those valances are perfect just to add a little bit of softness to your windows, Shirley! Sometimes that’s all you need. I know it made a difference when I made the valances for our sunroom. Love the check fabric. That pillow is really pretty, too. I have a slipcover on the chair in my sewing room that I got from Ballard Designs {on clearance I think} that is a brown and white check. I just love it and it goes so well with the toile skirted table it sits at.

    Happy Easter!

It looks like you and Kim have shared a liking for the same fabric. I like the way you have used it and how it ties in with the entire look of the space. You must be in overdrive mode getting ready for your house shoot. I know it will all be perfect.
Happy Easter to you and yours.

I’m in the market for a more traditional red check pattern, but I need more than 20 yards so I think I will have to wait until I win the lotto. :/
