Just prior to the photo shoot I had of my home . . .
~ ~ I decided that I really needed a table that also doubled as a desk in the guest room.
Hmmm . . what could I use . .
~ ~ then I thought of the table that was in the Master Bedroom . .
~ ~ ~ ~ that was previously in the foyer (move furniture around much???!!!) . .
A place where you can sit and write a note or work on a computer . .
This cute vintage alarm clock does work . . . however, I do not keep it wound . .
~ ~ as it would keep my guests awake from the very loud ticking!..
The wicker chair was already in the room . . so I just placed it under the table . .
~ ~ now you have a desk . . !!
Creating a new vignette . . .
~ ~ ~ so where did that side table go that was on the other side of the bed?…
To the other side of the bed . . . “oh domin-o” !!
~ ~ stay tuned to see where the wash stand landed…
Creating new vignettes on the dresser . . using the apothecary jar from France.
Small small changes to the French “Chicken Stamps” Wood Box . .
And this set of three vases landed here from being on the side table to the right of the bed..
~ ~ ~ who knows how long these will remain on the table . . any bets?!!
Getting ready for Round 2 of company for this month . . and more to come in June! . .
That’s they way it is in the “Housepitality B & B” ~ ~
Have a most beautiful day!!!

With all your changes, you make me feel so lazy. Every now and then I move something a few inches here or there and on a really energetic day I might rearrange furniture! I love all your tweaks.
Love the desk idea next to the bed and all your pretty vignettes that welcome any guests.
Love that table Shirley and love all your pretty vignettes!!
Such a pretty table you moved into your guest room, Shirley! Doubles as the perfect desk too. Love the stained glass window above it. Beautiful room for your guests to enjoy.

The table is perfect there. I love the vignettes you have created.
That table worked out perfectly there, Shirley! I had to laugh about the little clock not being wound. I have to do that with a clock I bought for our master bedroom because the color was perfect for the Duck Egg I used in there. Unfortunately, it ticks so loud we’d be laying there wide awake. I finally had to take the battery out and just decide to keep it for looks.
Oh, your lucky, lucky guests! Such a pretty room filled with beautiful details! I love the “Chicken Stamps” box the most–it just makes me smile. 🙂
What a gorgeous table! and I love how you’ve styled it. Sigh. What a lovely room!!
Looks great as always, Shirley. You are constantly making changes in your home. I hope you take some time for yourself to just relax and enjoy the fruits of your labors. I know from first hand experience you are the consummate hostess.
Shirley, Great choice for a desk! It looks wonderful in your room… and I see that you added a few very guest friendly items to it too! I can’t wait to stay there with you! xo
I love the desk next to the bed…..great idea! Your vignettes are beautiful as always!!!!

You always do such a great job with your décor. Of course you know if I was a guest in that room I would never want to leave. Your home is so beautiful and I always enjoy coming here to visit.
I love the desk beside the bed. Such a great look and functional too! I was just thinking the other day that your home would look good in the Southern Lady magazine. I saw it on news stands the other day and your home would fit in nicely. Have you ever looked at that magazine?
Yes I have many of their issues…have been reading Southern Lady magazine for years!
Looking great, Shirley!!! Photo shoot? You too? Lucky girl!

🙂
Very pretty, Shirley! Your room is so welcoming and relaxing! Any guest would certainly enjoy their stay in this room! I love your idea of adding the desk!
I am loving your white –pottery/ironstone/milk glass.
I have been thinking of doing a post just on old white ironstone.
White freshens almost any decor.

Oh Shirley it is all so charming and inviting. Your guests are going to love staying in that pretty room. It is just like a great B&B. Love it.
Kris
Another fabulous design! The table you placed as a desk is GORGEOUS! What are the dimensions of the desk/table?
Your Guest Bedroom is Lovely. I see that you have placed bottled water and a dish of treats out for your guests, that’s a great idea. I once read that when having company, leave bottled water and a sweet snack in the bedroom, such as homemade cookies, chocolates or hard candies. It will make your guests feel comfortable and provides a sweet treat upon arrival and/or at bedtime when they have a craving but don’t want to disturb the house by going to the kitchen.
Just beautiful Shirley! We have similar headboards.
I love it Shirley! That wicker chair is the perfect pop of color and all of your vignettes are just beautiful!
The little table is a perfect desk… and the little vignette, so pretty Shirley. Such am pretty guest room. Very lucky guests indeed.
Hugs, Gee
All the changes look wonderful, Shirley. I love the little table, and I actually find the ticking of a clock very soothing, so you’d need to wind it if I visited. 🙂
That is a wonderful idea, Shirley. The best rooms I have stayed in as a guest are oes that have a table or desk to put my makeup on!!! I actually bring a desk lamp and my magnifying mirror any where I go so having a table is PERFECT!!! Wish I could be your guest!!! I know you are the hostess with the mostest!!!
I love it, Shirley! I did the same thing in my guest room; and it is so convenient to have a table next to the bed. I agree that it’s perfect for writing notes, working on a laptop, or putting on makeup. Our guests love it! Love all of your sweet vignettes, as well! What a perfect guest room!
I love how your desk came together. But I am especially loving that chandy with the black toile trays! They steal the show!
Love your domino effect Shirley! Your petite table makes a perfect desk! Love the clock ♥
Love the desk vignette!! I may have to copy………………is it patented??
Such a beautiful space! I’d love to stay there!!!! Have a beautiful day!~~Angela
Just gorgeous Shirley, love the changes and that clock is so pretty!!! I know what you are talking about with the noise though.
Cynthia
You are a wizard when it comes to the quick change! I’ve chosen not to continue my subscription to Better Homes & Gardens. Who needs that when I’ve got you for inspiration?
Love the milk glass with the glass balls…
Just found your web site. Your home is BEAUTIFUL! Where did you get your stacker in your kitchen with the vintage bowls on it. It is so nice. Will email your again.
