Guest Room Changes

Just prior to the photo shoot I had of my home . . .

~ ~ I decided that I really needed a table that also doubled as a desk in the guest room.

Hmmm . . what could I use . .

~ ~ then I thought of the table that was in the Master Bedroom . .

~ ~ ~ ~ that was previously in the foyer (move furniture around much???!!!) . .

Guest Room Desk

Guest Room Desk

A place where you can sit and write a note or work on a computer . .

Guest Room Desk

This cute vintage alarm clock does work . . . however, I do not keep it wound . .

~ ~ as it would keep my guests awake from the very loud ticking!..

Guest Room Desk

The wicker chair was already in the room . . so I just placed it under the table . .

~ ~ now you have a desk . . !!

Guest Room Side Table

Guest Room Side Table

Creating a new vignette . . .

~ ~ ~ so where did that side table go that was on the other side of the bed?…

Guest Room Side Table

Guest Room Side Table

To the other side of the bed . . . “oh domin-o” !!

~ ~ stay tuned to see where the wash stand landed…

Guest Room Dresser

Creating new vignettes on the dresser . . using the apothecary jar from France.

French Wood Box

French Wood Box

Small small changes to the French “Chicken Stamps” Wood Box . .

Guest Room Table

And this set of three vases landed here from being on the side table to the right of the bed..

~ ~ ~ who knows how long these will remain on the table . . any bets?!!

Getting ready for Round 2 of company for this month . . and more to come in June! . .

That’s they way it is in the “Housepitality B & B” ~ ~

Have a most beautiful day!!!

With all your changes, you make me feel so lazy. Every now and then I move something a few inches here or there and on a really energetic day I might rearrange furniture! I love all your tweaks.

Such a pretty table you moved into your guest room, Shirley! Doubles as the perfect desk too. Love the stained glass window above it. Beautiful room for your guests to enjoy.

That table worked out perfectly there, Shirley! I had to laugh about the little clock not being wound. I have to do that with a clock I bought for our master bedroom because the color was perfect for the Duck Egg I used in there. Unfortunately, it ticks so loud we’d be laying there wide awake. I finally had to take the battery out and just decide to keep it for looks.

I love the desk beside the bed. Such a great look and functional too! I was just thinking the other day that your home would look good in the Southern Lady magazine. I saw it on news stands the other day and your home would fit in nicely. Have you ever looked at that magazine?

I am loving your white –pottery/ironstone/milk glass.
I have been thinking of doing a post just on old white ironstone.
    White freshens almost any decor.

Another fabulous design! The table you placed as a desk is GORGEOUS! What are the dimensions of the desk/table?

Your Guest Bedroom is Lovely. I see that you have placed bottled water and a dish of treats out for your guests, that’s a great idea. I once read that when having company, leave bottled water and a sweet snack in the bedroom, such as homemade cookies, chocolates or hard candies. It will make your guests feel comfortable and provides a sweet treat upon arrival and/or at bedtime when they have a craving but don’t want to disturb the house by going to the kitchen.

All the changes look wonderful, Shirley. I love the little table, and I actually find the ticking of a clock very soothing, so you’d need to wind it if I visited. 🙂

That is a wonderful idea, Shirley. The best rooms I have stayed in as a guest are oes that have a table or desk to put my makeup on!!! I actually bring a desk lamp and my magnifying mirror any where I go so having a table is PERFECT!!! Wish I could be your guest!!! I know you are the hostess with the mostest!!!

I love it, Shirley! I did the same thing in my guest room; and it is so convenient to have a table next to the bed. I agree that it’s perfect for writing notes, working on a laptop, or putting on makeup. Our guests love it! Love all of your sweet vignettes, as well! What a perfect guest room!
