Lucketts 2014 Spring Design House

One of my favorite things to do while at Lucketts is to visit the Design House . .

This year it was a bit more difficult to snap pics and it was pretty crowded . . .

~ ~ being that it was the first day of the Lucketts Spring Market.

So hope you enjoy this mini tour of the Design House:

Lucketts 2014 Spring Design House

The Porch . .

As you come up the steps to the house . .

~ ~ this is what you see when you look to the left.

They set up for an “outdoor dining experience”

The right side of the porch, also set up for dining . .

This is what this area looked like last year…

~ ~ So which one do you prefer??

As you enter through the front door there is a small foyer area . .

The dining room to the left of the foyer . .

This is another dining area in the house ~ ~

I so love how the designers incorporate many architectural elements throughout the house . .

~ ~ such as many gorgeous antique doors.

So many unique things for sale in this “house” . . .

And many items had a “sold tag” on them!

This home had many wonderful lighting fixtures in all of the rooms . . .

There were many fabulous accessories available for purchase . . .

~ ~ from farmhouse and industrial chic . . . to garden themed pieces.

If you are ever in the area of the Lucketts Store, in Lucketts, Virginia . .

~ ~ the Design House (when open) is a must see!…

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend ! !

Have a beautiful day!!!

    Shirley,

I am the girl from Missouri that talked to you and Kim at the gate before Lucketts opened on Saturday. I finally got set up to receive your blog. Looks like I will enjoy reading this. I enjoyed my first time at Lucketts and the Design House.

Shirley, you had me from the front porch, with the three-tiered stand, to the old doors and topiaries galore! The old chippy urns and baskets are wonderful, as well! There was so much eye candy in this post that I had to go back and look again! What a fun way to spend a day!

So much great stuff, Shirley! I see several things I would have wanted. I would probably have been disappointed with those “sold” tags on things.

I like the “dining experience” front porch idea. It’s over the top but so neat!!

I’m late getting to this one, Shirley, but it was worth the wait! Wow…so pretty! I remember when you went last year and posted all the pictures. You got quite a few this year, too. Like you, I LOVE that gigantic round mirror! I loved the dragonfly/butterfly lampshades on the table in front of it, too. So many pretty architectural pieces…I would be tickled pink to have all of those in our house!

As for the front porch, I can’t decide which I like better. Last year’s vignette was nice for just sitting, cooling your heels, chatting it up. This year’s is more for enjoying dessert or lunch, although I don’t know that I would want to do that on the FRONT porch! Maybe the side porch, but not the front. And the cupboard blocks the view. But it’s still cool. I’d be completely down with it if it was all moved around to the side porch!

This mini tour has left me with some great inspiration to change a few things around in our home as I’m continuing my cleaning and organizing. It’s an endless (and seemingly thankless sometimes!) job.

Thanks for sharing these pics so we can live vicariously through your travels!
