It was time . . .
~ ~ as the first day of Summer is quickly approaching.
Time to add a bit of Summer in the room . . . so that meant, it went “Coastal”
My goal was to use what I had on hand.
Items gathered from a few rooms in the house . . and my stash in the attic . .
~ ~ the starfish topped bottle from Pottery Barn last year.
A sequined pillow found in the clearance bin at Pottery Barn a few years ago.
Faux coral topped glass bottle also by Pottery Barn last summer . .
~ ~ and a hurricane filled with beach glass and starfish.
A succulent embellished with shells rounds out the vignette.
While strolling the aisles of Melville Trading where I have a booth . . .
~ ~ I came across a booth that had many things on sale . . and saw this driftwood pillar.
There is a platform at the top of the pillar for a candle, etc. . .
~ ~ however, I chose to use it just as a decorative pillar of driftwood.
Another vignette needed to be created, so I grabbed the driftwood bowl . .
~ ~ that was waiting for me in the abyss of the attic.
I filled it with Antique Japanese Fishing Floats that my mom gave me many years ago.
Added the Premier Issue of Beach Cottages . . .
I can start to feel the sand between my toes . . .
~ ~ or is that dust?!!
And speaking of dust . . .
~ ~ the dust is still trying to settle in the creation of “my sweetie’s space” . .
As I have stated, she will be hands on in the completion of her space.
Here is one of the projects she is working on:
She was doing a great job . . and after a while of seeing her reach around to paint . .
~ ~ I brought the lazy susan out and put the lamp on it . . it worked great!
Have a wonderful summer day!!

Shirley, I love the coastal touches in your sunroom! That driftwood bowl is AMAZING, and looks fantastic with the fishing floats! I had to laugh at the sand/dust comment 🙂
And what a great idea to use the lazy susan to paint…can’t wait to see your sweetie’s space!
Susan
Love your beachy additions. That driftwood bowl is such a great size and lucky you to have real fishing floats. They are so pricey now. I have been adding some beachy pieces, too here and there and who knows where all my small shells are. Lost in the hoarding room somewhere. 🙁
Perfect summery touches in the sunroom Shirley . Beach glass… how pretty they look in the jar.
The lamp will be a wonderful addition to her room.
Happy weekend!
Hugs, Gee
I love all your coastal accents in your sunroom….and I love that sweet picture at the end of the post. You’re such a good g-ma! She’s a cutie pie!
Beautiful vignettes – I love anything from the beach!!!
I love your sunroom! It is always so pretty. Just love that driftwood bowl 🙂
Love all of your beachy touches Shirley…your sunroom looks so pretty!! Your little helper is doing a great job…can’t wait to see her new room!!
I love a few coastal elements in the house for summer even if the ocean is not out your back door. I added some souvenirs from our vacations to Mexico and the Oregon Coast to my decor a couple of weeks ago. And you know, there’s no ocean anywhere near Colorado. Starfish, sand dollars and sea glass just spell summer if only in my dreams. Happy first day of summer!
Love. Love. So Pretty. I had a sun room in my previous house…and looking at yours makes me miss mine. I will just picture myself in your pretty room.
Have a great weekend.
Sheila
It’s perfect Shirley! Love all your coastal touches. What a pretty pillow too!

I love the beachy look in your sunroom! I wish I was at the beach right now!
Love beachy!!
I love summer! A time to breathe a bit, get out and enjoy the sun and the sand. But, if I had to be inside I would love to be in your sun room. I think that coastal look even lowers my blood pressure, it’s so soothing. Looks like Miss Gaylyn is well oh her way of inheriting grandma’s good décor genes. Have a wonderful weekend!
So very pretty! I love all the beachy touches. They are perfect for summer. What I am really loving though, is the watering can arrangement with all the summer flowers! Truly beautiful! (And of course I swoon for all the wicker. 🙂 )
I’m not surprised that you have a great stash Shirley! Just saying 🙂
My collection of beach glass is coming along, so I love yours and also the fishing floats.
Very cool here today, so this beachy theme is great to look at and enjoy.
Have a great weekend.
Love all your coastal additions in your sunroom. Those fishing floats are beautiful! Mmmm…I’m thinking beach.
Your granddaughter is darling, Shirley!

It looks so pretty and beachy, Shirley! I love the starfish.
Have a great weekend!
The sun room looks terrific with your coastal items and vignette’s. I love that pillow with the bling on it.
Your little sweetie pie looks so cute painting her lamp. I am anxious to see her talents, you know the old saying “The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree”. She’s grandma’s girl and such a pretty one too.
Have a great weekend.
Mary
Starfish, coral, driftwood and beach glass..it doesn’t get any better than that! LOVE it all, especially your antique fishing floats and the gorgeous pillow. Thanks for reminding me that I have some beach glass…somewhere. Have a good weekend.
Shirley, your sunroom just keeps getting better and better!Your coastal vignettes are wonderful! I love using shells, beach glass and fishing floats in summer decorating! You have so many pretty items that you incorporated in your decor. Your sweetie is so cute and a decorator in the making! She is doing a fabulous job painting the lamp!
I love all of your coastal accessories in the sunroom. That seems like a perfect place to use them. Your granddaughter looks so sweet painting that item for her room. Good idea to use a lazy susan too.

Really liked the beach theme and all those lovely knock knacks…
Love your coastal touches Shirley, I have fishing float envy 🙂
You really have the touch when it comes to creating vignettes. I could spend hours relaxing in your pretty sunroom.
What a wonderful sun-porch! I love all of the “beachy” things you have added. The sea-glass is so pretty…and I love the shells and star-fish! Good job…I could totally relax in your lovely space! Linda
I love all the different elements you used to make this beach decorated room! Love the wicker furniture, too! Definitely my favorite style!
However, if you want to know the truth behind the claims,

Not only women, but Propolis can help men too, particularly
in repairing the damaged sperm, which is the most common male infertility factor.
YOur vignettes are so beautiful and your granddaughter is precious. How fun you two are creating together. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me.
I LOVE your whole coastal vibe, Shirley, and it’s so much better to go “coastal” than “postal.” 🙂 Sorry — I just couldn’t resist. I love your sea glass, your driftwood pillar, pillows, and all the other coastal touches. As always, you’ve done a great job, Shirley. I’m afraid I couldn’t have a booth like you do because I’d spend all my earnings shopping at the other booths. 😉
Your granddaughter is just darling; I’m glad she’s getting to help with her room. I hope you have a wonderful week and a Happy Fourth!
Hugs,
Denise
Clearly I need to pop into Pottery Barn more often. Your room is very cozy and bright!
Very pretty coastal redo. I could almost feel the sand! What a great helper you have!
I enjoyed visiting you from the A Stroll linky! I linked my Patriotic bar/counter post.
Have a great week,
Sherry
I like the idea and challenge of using what we already have. All of your accessories are beautiful….including your little sweet girl.

I just love anything with shells and sea glass Shirley, and aqua is my very favorite color! I love the pop of coral with it, great lamp re-do, and I use a lazy susan for painting all the time, it is handy!
Missed this while we were on vacation so glad Marty featured you today!!!! I love, LOVE the coastal touches you have added to the sunroom. The fishing floats are fabulous, lucky you! That pillow is awesome too!
Wow! Now that is Coastal Living. I love it! I liked your FB page. Don’t see how to follow you here but would sure like to keep up with you. Love your style.
Love all your coastal touches…….all very pretty. That pillow is gorgeous, an so nice you
have those old fishing floats. I saw on someones blog recently where they used clear crystal
Christmas balls to make them…….want to try that sometime. Your driftwood pieces are very
nice too. Great job! and your lil granddaughter is adorable, and so nice you are teaching
her to craft.
Blessings, Nellie
