Well, I find I have a “time limit” of how long a vignette stays on the coffee table. . .
Time’s up for the crystal theme . . .
~ ~ and time for a more casual feel of French Country.
So what do you do? . . . you add some lavender buds in a crystal compote.
Then you add stems of lavender in a “pretend French Confit Jar” . . .
And add a pretty violet for color and texture and a bird bath of lavender vs. water . . .
What would a French Country vignette be without wonderful Charles Faudree books . . .
~ ~ and a gathered bunch of lavender stems.
A gathered bunch of lavender tied together with a pretty ribbon. . .
~ ~ is this saying French Country yet?
A “petite” Ridgways Blue and White Oriental bowl holds vintages keys . . .
~ ~ the bowl is from England, but the keys could be from the South of France!
I am loving the wonderful smell of the lavender as I sit on the sofa . . .
~ ~ admiring the French Country accents gathered in and around one of my favorite baskets.
Have a wonderful day of enjoying the wonderful smells of summer . . .
~ ~ of hot dogs on the grill, the amazing scent of watermelon as you slice one open . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ the smell of fresh cut grass . . . and for me, the smell of clay at the ballfield !!

I am joining:
Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday
Pretty vignette. I do believe if I try really hard, I can smell the lavender. Like you I am getting tired of seeing the sea shells. Ready for something new.You have inspired me to change things up ambit…
Happy summer Shirley !
Hugs, Gee
Nicely done, Shirley!
Lavender is one of my favorite fragrances, and one of very few that don’t give me migraines. Love your new coffee table vignette. 🙂
You know I LOVE your coffee table filled with lavender in all its forms!!!! And I’m going to have to use your idea of the skeleton keys in a pretty dish. Everything is so Lovely, Shirley!
Mary Alice
Wonderful vignette….I love the little blue and white dish with keys!!!

So pretty. I really like the old keys.
That’s really lovely Shirley. I especially love that white colour blocked jug.
Happy Wednesday!!!

Clay in the ballfield? I would take the glorious smell of lavender any day over that.:) I love your new vignette, and yes it does say Country French all the way. The smells around here are rain dampened dirt and wet rosemary. All this rain does my herbs worlds of good!
So pretty! Love your Charles Faudree books, the little blue and white bowl with the antique keys and that wonderful basket. You also reminded me about the bunch of lavender I bought in Sautee Nacoochee. Thanks for the inspiration. My coffee table vignette is definitely past it’s “sell by date”.
Shirley, I am loving your basket and your bowl of keys. I love blue & white, so you had me at first glance. I always enjoy your creations
Sheila
Just lovely…..I especially like the keys in the bowl: I am going to start hunting for skeleton keys on my antiquing journeys!! Rosie @ The Magic Huch
Nice job Shirley! I think that all those keys must be for for me. You’ve locked everything up so you wont find me lurking around your house!! He he. Your home looks so lovely no matter what you do to it.
Lovely Lavender!!
I like your new coffee table vignette. Hard to believe that Charles Faudree is gone now. I guess his books will become even more special now.
Shirley, your French vignette is lovely! I can almost smell the lavender! I love the basket and the way it anchored the vignette. Your home is always so pretty!
So lovely Shirley. I love that basket you have the vignette in. Love the smell of lavender so relaxing and fresh.
So pretty.
Kris
Love this so much. I had some lavender growing last year but it was destroyed by all the snow. This blog makes me want to plant some more. Did you buy those French keys together or separately? They are awesome.
Shirley, this is such a pretty vignette. I love all of the lavender accents. I am sure it smells wonderful; and the Charles Faudree books are perfect!
What a beautiful vignette, love all the lavender and the keys in that dish are super cool!!
Cynthia
I love lavender. Your table look looks wonderful.
Very pretty! I love the contrast of the lavender with the red chair in the background. You have such an eye for detail.
Where did you get your lavender? It is beautiful and I bet your house smells HEAVENLY!!!! I just love that little bird bath! You have the cutest pieces. I have my shell collection all over right now. I only get to use them in the summer but I really love your vignette!!!
Very pretty vignette and I love the lavender. Looks very French.
Have a wonderful evening.
Mary
BEAUTIFUL my friend!! I have the same confit pot from PB…mine is filled with wheat right now but after seeing yours with the lavender I think a change is coming!
Beautiful vignette, Shirley. I love lavender!
Your lavender looks so pretty and I’ll bet it smells fantastic, Shirley! I love your coffee table vignette, including your decorating books {especially the Charles Faudree}.
Shirley I just love lavender. I put a few drops of lavender oil into an atomizer by my den every night and I sleep so well.
Love thee old keys in the dish. A simple detail, but so very beautiful.
A great french look, … and smell. Love Charles Faudree, he was my favorite designer.
Hugs,
Patti
I bet your room does smell as wonderful as your coffee table looks! Such simple ways to use the lavender! I just love simple! Love the keys in the bowl. I just remembered I have some old keys. Now I know what I can do with them!
So lovely!
What a lovely vignette! I love Lavender!! Mine will soon be ready to harvest then I will have that lovely aroma in my home.
Thanks for stopping by.
Shirley, Beautiful vignette and I bet your home smells wonderful!

Sherry
I like the change! I also like the vintage keys! I have a small collection of them myself, and they are on display in our library. I’ve considered putting them in a shadow box, but I really like them just kind of casually put out in a bowl. It’s kind of a “Downton Abbey” look in its own little way! 🙂
Hope you had a good weekend, Shirley!
Love the smell of lavender and the display of it is gorgeous…
Where can I buy a bird bath with the two birds that you used? It’s adorable and unique.
