Flower Plate Wall Garden

I asked my granddaughter what she would like to have on the wall over her bed.

I showed her some inspiration pics that I had . . .

~ ~ and she was leaning towards a mural of a tree.

I am not an artist by any means . . . but wanted to see what I could come up with.

I had some “flower plates” in my dining room that I purchased from Arhaus.

I thought hmmmm . . . this may work.

Flower Plate Bouquet

I arranged the pattern on paper to make a template . . . marking the spots where the nails would go.

Flower Plate Bouquet

Then taped the paper to the wall and placed the nails in the wall.

Flower Plate Bouquet

Gathered my materials . . .

Flower Plate Bouquet

Then started to paint and connect the “flowers” . . .

Flower Plate Bouquet

Flower Plate Bouquet

Added a ribbon to “tie it together” . . .

Flower Plate Bouquet

My “sweetie’s” favorite color is red . . .

~ ~ and since there is no red in the duvet cover . . . I thought I would choose the coral shade . . .

~ ~ ~ ~ for one of the ribbons, rather than the yellow.

Flower Plate Wall Garden

My “sweetie” has given it two thumbs up !!!

We are still working on her space . . .

Fairy Garland

We are adding some “Fairies” . . . that I first saw on Mary’s (Home is Where the Boat Is) blog . . .

Hat Rack

And a “place to hang her hat” ! !

Hope you enjoyed my little “DIY” project today . . .

~ ~ I do not get a chance to do many of these, but it is so much fun creating things for our “sweetie” !!

Have a fabulous day!!! . . .

Very cute, Shirley! Your flower plate artwork is perfect for your Sweetie’s bedroom! I would have never thought to make these into one plant. I love her hat tree and the fairy is adorable. Her room is really coming together well!

Very clever! I don’t get a chance to do many DIY projects either. I absolutely can’t tell you why because I’m retired. I think it has to do with all the things I do for my sweeties and the one big sweetie who has lived with me 50 years! LOL

What a great idea for a little girl’s room, and a nice change from the usual “plate display wall.” Love it, Shirley!

Shirley, your flowers look so good and I am so glad that your “Sweetie” approved. Enjoy her now as the get older their personalities develop. I am finding that out now with my Kelly she always wants to do it her way LOL Then when it’s wrong, I go back and show her how it should be and she is good with that.
You are so lucky to have her close. I am going with to my sons for my Birthday and will be spending time with Kelly. I am so looking forward to that.
    Have a great week.

Oh, the sweet memories Graylyn will carry with her all of her life of her beautiful Grandma teaching her such artful sophistication. I just love that really creative design, it’s just perfect. Who would have ever thought to hang little plates to make a bunch of flowers on a wall. Just genius. Graylyn is so lucky to have you! And you are so lucky to have her to pass down your ideas and talent. I love your really close relationship with her. That is a real treasure for both of you. PS: cards and pix in the mail today.
