Well, we did it again . . .
~ ~ as I said previously, I am going to name our antiquing adventures . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ or create a handbook, “How to Find Great Antiques if You Love to Drive”
Yes, the driving guide, as the prerequisite is that you have to love to travel 2 hours or more. 🙂
On this day, Mary Alice and I set out to Carlisle, PA and visited a few shops there.
It was at one of the three shops we visited that I found this beauty!
A petite ironstone tureen with it’s under plate and ladle!!!
It has a beautiful “crown motif” on the lid and handles . . .
And also on the under plate . . .isn’t it just beautiful??? I am so thrilled with it. Can you tell???
In addition the to the “crown motif” . . . there is another pretty detail on the lid and plate.
I added some vintage leather/marbled covered books that I also found on our shopping excursion . . .
~ ~ for $5.00 each . . . to create a little vignette on the top of my Antique French Commode.
Placed my ironstone mortar and pestle on top of the vintage books of Shakespeare Works . . .
~ ~ I purchased the mortar and pestle from the antique mall, Melville Trading, Mebane, NC . .
~ ~ ~ ~ where I have a booth.
By far, this is my favorite piece of ironstone . . . which was made by Adams and Sons (England) . . .
~ ~ it is in near perfect condition with only one teeny chip at the bottom of the tureen . . teeny!
And are you curious as to what I paid for it?….Ready???….$38.00 LESS 30%….
~ ~ the entire booth was 30% off!!!
So a grand total of $26.60 !!! Happy Dance!!
I cannot stop admiring it…just puts a smile on my face!…
I do have more to share from “our adventures”…
Have a great day . . . and hope you come across something amazing today that will also make you dance…
~ ~ it doesn’t have to be a material thing . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ as the sight of my granddaughter makes me really “dance” !!!
Loved ones….the true treasures of life !!!

I am joining:
From My Front Porch to Yours for Treasure Hunt Thursday

What a dream to find those pieces, Shirley! We love to travel over to IL and mid Missouri for antiquing. I think I will plan a day trip for when our weather cools.
I would love to have the mortar and pestle, plus the small tureen to add to my collection. I think my little ironstone collection is what I miss most, while staying at the apartment.

Lovely, but as you said “loved ones are the true treasures” and spending time with those we love makes us “dance”. I hope you dance.
That is a great find. One day I want to get in my car and go to the local towns and do some shopping. I want to find the thrift stores. I love to shop those.I think the best part of those trips is the company. Going with a good friend and making some memories are the best finds of all.

You are absolutely amazing when it comes to finding something special at every stop. Even more amazing is that you always find just the right place to showcase what you buy. I guess that comes with sticking to what you know will work.

Great find! There is a wonderful antique mall we stopped in last week in a former old factory in Lemoyne, PA. Its called the Antique Marketplace and its located across the river from Harrisburg PA. It takes several hours to go through it and I found some great ironstone pieces at 30% off.
Your tureen is a beautiful piece. Your shopping trips sound like fun adventures! I looked around my house and I thought what in here makes me smile? When my grandchildren are here they make me smile and my living room almost makes me smile, but I have a lot of work to do all over. Some things have been pretty much the same for 12 years. Yuck! Keep inspiring me PLEASE.
Fun and great finds…doesn’t get any better than that!!!
Blessings,
Cindy
