Hope you all are making wonderful plans for the upcoming holiday weekend.
My hubby has a tournament and we have friends staying the weekend with us . . .
~ ~ so looking forward to a very busy and fun weekend.
Today, I wanted to show you something that I found while traveling with my hubby . . .
~ ~ in Huntington, West Virginia.
Huntington, a great town . . . that many of you have come to know, from the movie . . .
~ ~ “We Are Marshall” . . . if you have not seen this, it is a must to see with a box of Kleenex.
I went to a few antique shops and found a few nice things and of course for a great price . . .
~ ~ however, this is my favorite piece that I found that day.
I was just about to walk out of this shop when I spied a stack of bowls. . .
~ ~ and saw this pretty scalloped bowl on the top of the stack.
Turned it over and discovered that it was an ironstone bowl by Wm. Adams and Sons.
With the exception of a few aged brown spots, the bowl was perfect . . .
~ ~ however, there was no price tag on it.
The store owner asked if $15.00 was OK….I hesitated and said, “that would be fine” 🙂
I was doing somersaults in my head . . .and a few cartwheels . . .
For now, I am using it as my fruit bowl in the kitchen.
I hope to gather more bowls and replace the covered glass ones in my kitchen . . .
~ ~ sounds like another field trip is in order.
And talk about field trips . . .
When I arrived at Mary Alice’s home prior to one of our antique adventures . . .
~ ~ I was admiring the creamery crock that she had posted about earlier.
It is a beauty . . . she mentioned that it is for sale . . . for sale???
SOLD !!!
Some of you may have seen this jar too . . . it was for sale too . . . SOLD !!!
I love the rim of the crock. . . and its aged look.
I added this jar to the vignette that I had started.
These two new items really enhanced the vignette I started a while ago . . .
~ ~ thanks to Mary Alice’s Etsy Shop!
Have a most wonderful Labor Day weekend . . . hoping that you will have more fun and less “labor” !!!

The bowl is gorgeous. I love the scalloped shape and I am the biggest fan of white ironstone…what a deal!! Your vignette with the marmalade jars is perfect. Enjoy your holiday weekend ~
My husband used to go on business trips to Huntington too. I went a few times. I remember touring the Pilgrim Glass Factory there. Is it still there? I have some blown glass vases from there. I study your vignettes. I am learning to shop my house.
Love the scalloped bowl! And yes, I asked MA about the crock and she told me you bought it. Rats!
When you replace the crocks, I want to be first on the list to claim them!
You are on a roll with collecting ironstone lately! I love the little marmalade jar you found. The rounded rim makes it very different.
Hi Shirley, what a lovely bowl and collection. Very pretty and the scalloping is a gorgeous finish.
Enjoy the holiday weekend,
Lisa
The scalloped ironstone bowl is a real beauty!!! You’re going to soon have more ironstone that I do! :-))

The bowl looks perfect with fruit! I am sure you enjoyed your time in Huntington. We always drove through there when I was little on the way to my grandparents house. Have a great weekend!

Wow, you always find the coolest stuff. I think you have hooked me on the iron stone! I am going to need wall spreaders pretty soon with all the tea pots and tea cups I collect. Hubby going to be living in the shed soon! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your guests! xoxo
Very pretty bowl to add to your collection and I love the enhanced vignette. Have a fun weekend and don’t labor too much. I know how you are when you entertain guests!

I love the scalloped edge on this bowl. Such lovely treasures my friend. xo P.S. I hope you shared this at my Thursday blog hop ( you can link up today and tomorrow too)
Shirley, you have so many fabulous treasures! Your ironstone bowl is so pretty; I love the scalloped edges! The marmalade jar is also a jewel! Wow, what great finds!
I love those little crocks, Shirley! They make for a great collection and I love them pictured together here.
Love your vignette as usual and I have my eye on one of those crocks from Nancy’s daily dish!
Cindy
Shirley, I love the crocks too! I recently bought a box of 18 Dundee Marmalade jars from a flea market. The seller was using these as drinking glasses in his home bar and had no idea they were collectible. Love the creamery crock and I have never seen one like that.
Hugs,
Sherry
Good luck to hubby! I have a feeling he’s going to take no prisoners :).
Would you believe I have zero, zilch, nada Ironstone?? What the heck is wrong with me???? 🙁
that really does make a beautiful fruit bowl. I love your finds.
Adams is always the one I look for, too. What a great bowl!
I like the vintage tablecloth, too.
Great finds… Love the jars…
Gorgeous grouping of crocks Shirley! They make me wish I had more room in my kitchen for a wonderful display!
