I need to call the hot-line for “antiques anonymous” . . .
~ ~ seriously, I need to seek a cure from this affliction.
Or do I want to be cured????
I downsize a collection . . . and then what do I do??? . . . start another!!
~ ~ or should I say “many others” !!!
I saw this bottle in an antique shop in Huntington, West Virginia….
~ ~ an old Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Bottle.
This bottle was actually the first bottle I purchased of this color . . .
~ ~ from one of those great shops in Carlisle, PA…..A Sawyer’s Crystal Blueing bottle.
I thought I would place it in my laundry room with the other vintage laundry items, but love it here.
And with the added items in this area . . . I needed more vintage stools to showcase these pieces….
And a new ironstone soup tureen to add to the collection . . . one of the Carlisle, PA finds.
The stool is so cute as it has a name carved in the top “Lisa”…
~ ~ I am sure it was made by a dad for his little girl…..or that is what I am believing!
Adding the velvet pumpkins for the Fall…along side my new sugar bowl ($12.50) … 🙂
Found these new pieces in Carlisle, PA too . . . it was a very productive and great trip.
Loving my new additions and “collections”….
I love this new vignette, but I also loved the previous vignette of ironstone.
~ ~ now off to refinish something to make these two stools “a collection” !!!
Have a great weekend . . . mine will be spent up to my elbows in paint . . .
~ ~ and most likely in my hair too . . . I always manage to get some all over me!

Hi Shirley,
I love your ironstone add ons and those stools are super cute. I love that you are finding some spots for some white chippy’s around your beautiful home. Have a great week end.
Kris
If there isn’t a “collector’s anonymous”…there should be! I’ve done that before too…downsize one thing…only to increase something else! Lovely collections nonetheless! Enjoy your painting weekend…you could where a shower cap! 😉
Love the pretty bottle! I don’t understand why we’re drawn to collect things, but it sure is fun isn’t it?!
Well, Shirley, I sure can’t help with being your sponsor for “aa” as it’s now dubbed by you in this post, lol, but if you ever want to fall off the wagon again, especially in Huntington (that’s practically my back door, just 45 min west of me), then I’m your girl! Great (new) old stuff – I love it all. The teal pumpkin goes great with it all.

Oh I am so bad too.. I think we just can’t help ourselves!! I’m going to need wall spreaders pretty soon or a bigger house which I don’t want. I love your Ironstone collection.. You have now put me on the look out for that..thanks for that! Ha ha Hope you have a wonderful weekend:)
Shirley, I love your ironstone collection. I’ve wanted a white ironstone tureen forever and finally broke down and bought one about two weeks ago. Thought having one would cure me but now I just want more. I say I’m not going to collect anything else but every time I go out my car automatically turns in at the thrift store and antique shops. Don’t think there’s any help for all of us. I like the stools as display. My husband and I made some so may be a copycat and use mine the same way you did. Thanks for your great posts.
The old stools are precious! My husband would love that old bottle. He collects old bottles. Being a land surveyor has it’s perks. Finding old bottles at old homesteads is one of them. He’ll go the lot in the woods his client wants surveyed, find where the old house used to be, then find the old trash pile and stare digging. Needless to say, many of the insides of these bottles are stained with Georgia red clay. I think it adds to the charm. I just moved them off the wall to over the opening of our den and breakfast room. Enjoy looking for that new collection!
LOL- I am the same way- get rid of a whole bunch of one thing and then start collecting another. It is just crazy, isn’t it? Completely crazy! lol LOVE old bottles, too!
Those are GREAT old stools, too. xo Diana
Very nice pieces but as long as you continue to “collect” you will never be able to downsize, my friend. I am happy to be your sponsor for Antiques Anonymous as I am a recovering member.
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the ironstone, bottles, benches, and, of course, your pumpkins. Did you make them. I LOVE them…collect pumpkins and would die for one….beautiful.
By the way, I think there is no cure for this kind of AA!
This is so funny because I do the same thing. I get rid of a collection but replace it with another.
I think it’s part of the treasure hunt process. Love your ironstone and the bottles are wonderful.
I also just visited your home tour and you have one of the most gorgeous homes I have ever seen. It is stunning and so well decorated. You are one talented lady!!
Have a nice weekend.
Hugs
Your ironstone collection is growing beautifully Shirley!! That little velvet pumpkin looks so cute on the creamer. Enjoy your weekend!
LOVE how you’re displaying all of your pretty ironstone tureens!! And the combination of the bottles, lavender, and stools…perfection!! The tiny pumpkin adds such a fun whimsical touch.

I love old bottles and have quite a collection. I am amazed at how expensive some of them have become so I am quite. selective. The best one I ever found was for my daughter and would you believe it’s the one that got broken.
wonderful treasures my friend xo
I love your collections of ironstone and chippy stools. Where do you shop in Carlisle? My husband goes there for car shows and business and I would love to visit those stores. Thanks.
Love your ironstone and bottles Shirley. I lived in the boonies of NJ growing up and we used to dig up those kinds of bottles all the time and just throw them like old junk. Little did we know what we had.
Gosh, I just love those tureens, Shirley! If I could figure out where to display more in my kitchen I’d be on the look out for them. Love your velvet pumpkins; that little one is just adorable! I found another globe for our home office. Now I have 3 so I guess it is an official collection now! : )
Lovin’ the glass bottles and sweet, chippy stools Shirley! It’s a dreary, rainy weekend here and good for painting indoors 🙂
I love your new collections, lol. I am trying not to buy anything because our house if for sale, and it would be just more to pack, but I think I am going to have to break down and buy some velvet pumpkins.
Shirley, your new collections are wonderful! I love ironstone and have a light blue bottle collection at the beach! These items blend with everything! Your vignettes are lovely! You never disappoint us! I always get so many wonderful ideas from you! Have a great weekend!
Love your collection – it really looks so good the way you have it arranged.
I am finding that since I am getting older “I need to start down sizing or what a mess I will be leaving for my son to take care of. He will probably get a BIG trash bin and start throwing, as he doesn’t know the value of our collections. So I am thinking ahead and will try and make it easier for him.
The picture of your granddaughter looks so cute in the vignette. She sure is a cutie and reminds me of my Kelly at that age. How does she like school this year?
Happy painting…..
Mary
No cure needed Shirley, it’s a healthy disease lol! Love your collections.
Don’t you just love it when you find a piece that goes completely with your collection? I really like to collect bottles they look so beautiful in a window with sun shinning through them.
Have a really great weekend. XX Jo
SUch a lovely bottle! I can totally see why you would want to pick it up. Collections can be so grand, and your little vignette looks wonderful!
Shirley, I love you new vignette! The little stools are wonderful!!! I collect them too! I think two of something so cute as those stools and so pretty as the bottles does count as a collection! Next time you are in Pa I’ll come and find you!!!!!! Miss you so so much! xo
When you DO downsize to that cottage you’ve been thinking about, I will happily take your collections from you ;).
I have to say, you have great taste… Lovely…
