2014 Fall Front Porch

HAPPY FALL Y’ALL !!!!

Fall is my very favorite time to decorate my front porch . . .

I think it is because I can decorate with the beautiful mums and pumpkins of the season.

Welcome to my home and porch dressed for Fall!!

Double doors flanked by ivy topiaries and “double wreaths” welcome you.

The very first thing I do, is to bring out my “hospitality pumpkin” to welcome family and friends.

I then refreshed my Summer wreaths by adding Fall leaves and berries.

The “Western Stoneware Company” crock is perfect for Fall mums!

My vintage wagon seems to be a staple on my front porch . . .

~ ~ love decorating it for the seasons.

I had a pumpkin topiary on the table last year and decided to place one in the wagon this year.

My monogrammed burlap hoop that has been used in the past for a door wreath . . .

~ ~ is now placed on a trellis for a backdrop.

Mums placed in my 8 gallon Redwing crock purchased many years ago

~ ~ at the Renninger’s Antique Festival in Mt. Dora, Florida . . .

~ ~ ~ ~ one of my sister’s and my favorite antique festivals.

We always attended all 3 days of that event . . Friday for first pickings and Sunday for deals!

And this crock was a deal at $25. . . and I never forget a great deal!!!

I filled every inch of my van with mums and pumpkins. . .

~ ~ to the point when my friend Sherri had to ride with one in her lap and pumpkins at her feet!

Your porch is amazing Shirley. I knew it would be after seeing your trip to the farmer’s market. You are so lucky to have a nice wide space like that.

Lovely, Shirley! I really like the pillows on your bench (that one with the numbers is great!). I also have a topiary/tower on my porch this year – easy peazy does it. Happy Fall and thanks for being part of hosting this party.

Your porch looks wonderful and inviting Shirley! I miss having a double front door. I also spotted that you have some very tall pencil holly in your beds. I wish ours would get that tall. They typically stay the same size as we bought them or die.

Shirley, your porch is lovely! I love your wagon! Your wreaths are also so pretty! Your front porch is inviting! Your Mums are gorgeous! I have Mum envy; it’s been far too warm here for Mums yet. This has been one of the hottest Falls I can remember! They haven’t put out real pumpkins yet due to the heat! Thanks for hosting! I can’t wait to see all the links!

I’m laughing at Yvonne’s comment Shirley! My sentiments EXACTLY!

For some reason, I’ve never been lucky with mums. Every year I say I’m not going to buy any, and every year I do, and every year they end up looking awful :(.

I’m sooooooo jealous of your beautiful landscape!

Everything looks beautiful. I can’t pick out one single thing…it is all too lovely. I am waiting for the French Red Cinderella pumpkins to come to T.J.’s. I called yesterday and they said it would be Friday. Have a great week. Our granddaughter just got a verbal committment to play soccer at SCAD in Savannah so it has been a very celebratory weekend for our family 🙂

Absolutely magnificent! I can’t imagine you ever having a front porch that isn’t welcoming and inviting and just downright beautiful!!!! You have really inspired me! As I think you and I have talked about, we don’t have s good ol’ Southern front porch like many of our Southern sisters have. I always refer to what we have more as “a stoop” than a porch. I have big hopes of expanding in the coming year to add a portico that will make it look like a true porch. Meanwhile, yours is gorgeous and I look forward to seeing what some of the other ladies have done.

I’m back to blogging & visiting here and there a little bit as my back health hopefully improves. I’m really glad to have such terrific inspiration at my beck and call!!!! Have a beautiful week, Shirley!
