Happy Monday ! ! !
It is such a beautiful Fall day here today.
So in celebration of Fall . . . I thought I would do a bit of a throwback today . . .
~ ~ of a Fall tablescapes and vignettes.
Began the creation of the tablescape with a glen plaid table runner. . .
~ ~ that was a French Laundry purchase at the Country Living Fair last year.
Pumpkins topiaries on silver compotes . . .
~ ~ and a dried floral centerpiece with materials I had on hand in my stash.
Place setting of chargers by Target and my favorite Fresco Turkey plates by Pottery Barn.
Thanksgiving is a precious time for our family . . .
~ ~ it was my father’s favorite holiday . . . no presents, no “hustle and bustle”
~ ~ ~ ~ just getting together as a family to Give Thanks.
My dad past away many years ago . . . a month before Thanksgiving.
~ ~ and my sister chose to get married on Thanksgiving . . . a year after my dad passed away.
~ ~ ~ ~ as it was my dad’s “special day”.
We all knew that he was looking down with joy and approval.
Our table was always filled with much “laughter”.
As you will notice, I love using my silver in tablescapes and vignettes.
Love the juxtaposition of the texture of natural elements and silver.
As seen in this pumpkin topiary in the silver trophy bowl.
Looking forward to Halloween . . .
To see what our “little goblin” will be wearing this year!
Have a fabulous Fall day . . .
I am enjoying my “Carolina Blue” sky here today!

Everything is just lovely! Your table setting is just perfect….as is your little gobblin! We have blue sky’s here in south central KY today also. Bon Journée.

I remember how much I loved your table last year and do again today. Hot here in the mid 80’s. Not feeling like fall.

I love your tables. Beautiful! My sister gave me the large silver bowl several years ago, and you gave me great ideas how to use it.
Where did you get the Bless This House framed sheet music? I don’t mean to covet, but I do want one like it.
I so enjoy your blog.
Beautiful vignettes! My favorites are those little wood pumpkins and your Give Thanks napkins….so pretty! I like the touch of silver you added to the mix too!!!
Have a great week…..

OOOOOOOHHH! What a beautiful table! Love how you’ve put together your centerpiece and your dishes are lovely. I know sometimes the holidays can be sad when we loose loved ones around them. Prayers for you to have sweet memories of your dad and remember the joy of your sister’s wedding! 🙂 Your table is beautiful and I wish you the best.

Shirley, your fall tablescapes and vignettes are always so pretty! It’s hard to believe that it’s fall here. It was 90 yesterday and in the 80’s today. We are supposed to have a cool front to drop the temps in the next couple of days. So, I finally went to the nursery this morning and got pansies and kale to put in pots on the back porch. I love all of the silver that you used in your vignettes. It just makes everything sparkle!

Hi Shirley, Pretty table, I too love Thanksgiving especially the food :). It really is a special time of the year to reflect on our blessings & give thanks and share good times with family & friends. It’s also my birthday (25th),& anniversary(24th)month, I was actually born on Thanksgiving day, so it’s a big month all the way around for me. Love the mixture of silver with the traditional decor. It must be so wonderful having a precious grand daughter to share all these neat times with. Have a great day and enjoy the change in seasons.
What a gorgeous table setting and the center piece. Did you make that with floral foam inside? Really beautiful. The problem I always have is that I always have to move the tablescape for all the food!
Your tablescape is beautiful and i love all the silver and crystal that you have incorporated.
I also love Thanksgiving – having family and friends for dinner. I am afraid that it’s to much for me to do these days – its up to the younger ones to carry on. I don’t mind helping, but can’t do it all. I can taste the turkey, dressing (one of my fav’s) and pumpkin pies, yum yum.
Looking forward to seeing what scary costume that sweet little girl of yours is going to wear.
Have a beautiful Carolina week.

Shirley, first of all I am hoping I may see you at Y’s on Wed.!!!!!!!!!!!!! She asked me to come up and I am hoping Joe will change our date to go to Longwood so I can come! Now, your table is EXQUISITE!!!! I so regret getting rid of all my silver. I gave it all to my son years ago and now have no idea if he still has it or not:( I love how you use yours, it is always beautiful and makes a table or vignette so very special.

Shirley- What a pretty, pretty, pretty table! I love it all from the glen plaid runner to the carved pumpkins. You really have a good eye for pulling things together.
My father loved Thanksgiving, too. We always had a full table of family-some that we seldom saw at our table except for Thanksgiving. My mother put on quite a feast every year and my gramma always brought the pies.
I love that your sister honored your Dad by getting married on that special day. xo Diana

I’d say you’ve got a real head start on Thanksgiving. Now you can focus on your menu and having fun with your little goblin. I suspect that’s a priority in any case.
