A Room “Less Traveled” – A Special Visit – A Halloween Cutie

When I had company of blogging friends and their hubbies . . .

~ ~ well, let me re-word that “FRIENDS” . . . .

~ ~ ~ ~ let’s leave the “blogging” out . . . as they are great “FRIENDS”

One of them asked me why I do not blog much about this room.

Don’t know why, maybe because it is hard to photograph . . . .

DSC_7527

Or maybe because there is so much “leather” . . .

~ ~ is anyone interested in a room with a large leather sofa?

DSC_7516

With a pheasant pillow (from Pottery Barn’s Fall collection) . . on it?

Pheasants and Quails . . . . some of my favorite birds. Or are they fowl?

DSC_7530

And let’s not even go there as to how the light in that room . . .

~ ~ plays tricks on the color of the walls.

DSC_7515

I promise the walls aren’t that sponged/washed 90’s technique!!

DSC_7517

Truthfully, we do not spend much time in this room.

When we have company, we will venture down there . . .

~ ~ as it is very comfy down there, to visit or watch a movie with surround sound. . .

~ ~ ~ ~ and you can “put your feet up”.

DSC_7520

A room where I have many little treasures . . .

~ ~ such as this “chicken stamp box” that I bought while in France.

DSC_7521

And these dog trophies from the fifties . . .

~ ~ one of them for “The Best B – T – H” in Show.

DSC_7526

A lamp chosen by my hubby (from Pottery Barn) as he loved “the look” . . .

DSC_7529

Another room where I love to add pops of red.

DSC_7525

And this turn of the century rocker . . . that reminds me that my sweet granddaughter . . .

~ ~ used to fit in this rocker!! She is becoming such a little young lady now.

DSC_7524

Every once in a while, we will pull out these vintage games and play.

DSC_7523

Let’s not forget this Dry Sink that was the Bi-Centenial edition from Magnavox . . .

~ ~ that houses a turntable and an 8-track tape player :).

~ ~ ~ ~ with some vintage items that I have not been able to “let go” . . . yet!

DSC_7522

Lanterns waiting to be “dressed for Christmas”

Speaking of Christmas . . . it was like Christmas when I got together with some great ladies . . .

~ ~ and friends . . . who just happen to be bloggers too!!!

I traveled to D.C. with my hubby this week…

~ ~ and when I am there, I meet up with Mary Alice and we do “road trips”….

This week’s “long road trip” took us to the Lancaster, PA area . . .

get-attachment-2.aspx

Where we knocked on this door . . .

get-attachment-4.aspx

Of this house . . . recognize it?…

~ ~ where the hostess with the mostest had coffee and a fabulous apple tart waiting for us.

~ ~ ~ ~ at the breakfast table in her gorgeous home.

get-attachment-3.aspx

I am sure you guessed correctly . . . Mary Alice and I drove up to visit StoneGable . . .

~ ~ where Pinky was there to meet us too . . . such a surprise.

Don’t you just love our “selfie” !!!

We had a great day, the four of us . . . of great food and shopping . . .

~ ~ with Yvonne as our tour guide.

My hubby and I arrived home last night or should I say this morning, as it was waay after midnight.

However, we got up early to go to our granddaughter’s Halloween Parade at school…

DSC_7556

She is a cutie!!!…All dressed up as a “turtle” a storybook character . . .

DSC_7560

Of this book . . .

I will always treasure these moments . . . as they grow up so very quickly….

get-attachment-1.aspx

And on our way home . . . I took a photo of this house down the street from me . . .

~ ~ should I warn the residents that a creepy spider is crawling toward their door!!!???

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!! . . . AND HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND.

And stay tuned to a wonderful “party” of my fellow bloggers next week . . .

~ ~ being “THANKFUL AT HOME”

Our great room has a large leather sofa too. And because of low lighting…I cannot get a great pic! It is a great tv or media room, but not much daylight due to our porch. I love your room! And your granddaughter is cute as a button! Looking forward to the thankful at home party! For some reason…I am ready to move on to Christmas in my brain. Just thinking ahead!
Cold here in KY today. Hope it is warm where you are!

Nothing wrong with leather. I love it! It is practical with dogs and kids, wears well and can be beautiful in any room with the right accents! Rooms don’t have to be white to be beautiful. I love colors! Loved your room! I also liked that it serves the “masculine” side of the family since they can often be overlooked.

Wow I love the room. I have a dark leather couch in my family room too. Everyone needs that space to just relax and decompress. It’s so nice that you ladies get together and visit. Funny thing was I recognized the Stone Gable home immediately. If you ever come to NJ Shirley you must come visit me. Happy Halloween and have a wonderful weekend. Your grand daughter is getting so big..she’s beautiful!

What a great room to hang out in – lots of space to relax. All of you look like you were having a wonderful time at Yvonne’s home. She has such a pretty home and I am sure she is a great hostess.
I can’t believe how your little sweetie is growing. Once they start – wow they grow so fast. Enjoy her while you can, because soon she will want to be with her friends.
She looks so cute as a turtle.
    Enjoy your weekend.

Your room is lovely. We have leather in our family room, too. WHAT? No sponged walls? What? lol

Your grandgirl is adorable! She is getting to be so big now! They grow up WAY too fast!

I also have a brown leather media room. It is practical for lounging and watching movies. My only complaint is that it’s cold…not in appearance but to my body. I add color with lots of pillows and a couple of warm throws. I hope Graylyn had a fun Halloween and you and Tom a relaxing weekend.
