Christmas Decor and Projects

Last week I took out a few Christmas decor storage bins to create a Winter Woodland Tablescape . .

~ ~ and now the pandora’s box is open and Christmas bins are everywhere.

So let the Christmas projects and decor begin!…

Today, I am pouring through last years Christmas projects and Christmas vignettes . . .

~ ~ seeing how I can changes things up . . . and pare things down . .

For my more simply stated Christmas . . . yes, I said it!

This tree was donated to Habitat for Humanity after Christmas . . .

~ ~ as much as we loved it . . the 12 foot tree was truly getting harder to decorate each year!

It was replaced by a 10 foot Balsam Hill tree that I purchased on clearance after Christmas.

~ ~ had underwent a little makeover and will be given a bit of a similar look this year.

I am gathering my thoughts for this year’s holiday look.

The little woodland Christmas tree in the sunroom . . .

~ ~ what will I do in this space this year??!!

I do know that I will be using these little guys in some way . . .

~ ~ as my granddaughter loves them.

And one of my favorite little trees of all, my feather tree, will most likely be . . .

~ ~ in another vignette. . . in another room . . . as this little tree is definitely a keeper!

I am so looking forward to the Christmas season . . . with a joyful heart.

However, tomorrow, we are celebrating Thanksgiving Vignettes.

I will be celebrating my vignette on Thursday, November 13th.

I am looking forward to your Thanksgiving presentation, Shirley. I, too, say I am going to pare down this year. We’ll see how I do with that. lol I have said that for the last few years. I did give a lot of my Christmas stuff to the kids a couple of years back so that felt good-and cleared up about 10 or 12 bins of “stuff”….even dispersing my Santa collection to them. It is fun to see it used here and there in their homes now.

Have a wonderful Veteran’s Day. xo Diana

    Shirley,
All your spaces are always so beautiful. My favorite is of your mantel. Is the tree a pinecone tree? I just love it!
Looking forward to your new, pared down versions…I know they will be stunning.

How lovely it all looks! I’m hearing that all over blogland that paring down is the way to go.
Can’t wait to see how you decorate your newest tree.

We will see how you simplify this year. I can’t and don’t start until after Thanksgiving. I probably will already have to put things away before mighty Joshua the three year old tornado comes for Thanksgiving.

Well…I for one am curious to see what you do this year! I have to pare down this year out of necessity. We are cat-sitting my son’s cat for several months…and he’s never seen a Christmas tree before…so I figured simple would be best for both him and my sanity! So,I’m depending on you to show me simpler Shirley! πŸ˜‰

I’m looking forward to seeing your Christmas decorations this year. I don’t know how you ever decorated that 12′ tree last year. That is so tall. I don’t blame you for getting a shorter one. Can’t wait to see your Thanksgiving vignettes on Thursday!

Shirley, I love how your tree was dripping with ornaments! I have so many ornaments I cherish, I just can’t go the “themed” tree route on my main tree. The memories all those ornaments bring puts so much joy in my heart : )

I so look forward to seeing what you do this year. I doubt I will pare down…it just isn’t in me yet:) I am starting to put all the Fall away and will start Christmas on Thurs. We have to do everything in the yard today and tomorrow and take advantage of the nice weather we are having. Then on Thurs. it FALLS and we will be freezing…..a good time to decorate!!! Your home ALWAYS looks SO beautiful.

Oh Shirley, everything was simply beautiful last year and I am looking forward to seeing this years Christmas decor. I am sure that it will be spectacular as you do such wonderful decorating.
I, too will be getting rid a lot of my decorations, as I have way to much. I am going to keep it simple, but I always say that each year and then I cave in when I see all the pretty things that everyone else does LOL. I think our intentions are good, but we just can’t help ourselves.

Looking forward to seeing your Thanksgiving party. Have a great week.

Our Canadian Thanksgiving is early October and so I am also bringing up my Christmas bins today! For the last few years I say I’m going to simplify, but something happens to me when the bin covers come off! lol We’ll see how I manage this year.
Looking forward to all your decorations and vignettes this year.
Have a fun day even if its a lot of work!

Your mantel looked great last year, Shirley! I love how your tree looked, too, but I totally understand about it being too much now. My tree is not quite as big, but I could use something a little smaller I think. I’m sure your home is going to look wonderful this Christmas, too. I have no idea what I’m doing yet. I guess I should start thinking about it – before I bring all those bins down from the attic!

I feel ya, sister! I opened that same Pandora’s Box a few weeks ago when I started planning for that workshop, and I couldn’t get it closed back up to save my soul!!! Christmas bins are EVERYWHERE down on the lower level just waiting to empty their contents all around the house!

Now let’s get real here…you and I both know there is NO way you are “paring down” anything for Christmas this year or any other year!!! You, like me, will keep adding “just one more little thing” to the mix until it’s just as big (if not bigger) than years past. It’s in our nature, child! Face it…you cannot help yourself!!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

That was a wonderful gesture to give your 12-footer to Habitat. A 10-ft. is still pretty doggone big, but at least it will be a bit more manageable. I can’t wait to see your decor for this year!!!

We get our tiles and grouts cleaned up once in every month. Unfortunately, the company we hired to do this work last time did not deliver good results. They did a disappointing job and the stains/spots were not cleaned properly. We came to know about Koala Cleaning through an advertisement. We browsed their name on the internet and found out that they were the best professional help available in our town. My husband immediately made an online appointment with them and within the next few hours they scheduled the service for us. They came and did the entire work, without even bothering us once. We only had to book the appointment and pay them at last, rest of the headache was taken care of. We would happily recommend everyone to hire Koala Cleaning for getting their tiles cleaned up. They provide the best service using the latest tools and techniques.
