I have been challenged to keep it simple.
I say that this year, I want to keep it simple . . .
~ ~ I have been asked by my friends if simple was in my vocabulary.
I have this vignette of ironstone and vintage books on my French Commode.
I added a mini wreath of evergreen and berries . . .
~ ~ and the most adorable grain sack ornament from Ann of On Sutton Place.
I have ordered a few items from Ann to add to my Christmas decor this year.
I love that Ann uses beautiful vintage fabrics.
Vintage books of Shakespeare Works were a great find on a field trip to Pennsylvania.
Moving on to do more simple Christmas vignettes this year . . .
~ ~ to embellish my existing decor with the natural beauty of the season.
I wish you all a most wonderful Thanksgiving.
I will be enjoying the blessing of my family and extended family . . .
~ ~ as we gather together with love, laughter and making cherished memories.

Simple and pretty, Shirley!
I like it, its elegant and festive…beautiful:-)
Hi Shirley, With Thanksgiving so late and traveling this year ‘simple’ is going to be my motto! Love you vintage books and Ann’s sweet ornament. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family ๐
Shirley, I am embracing the simple style of holiday decor this year as well!
Your vignette may be simple, but elegant and lovely all the same! ๐

I’m not sure you can do simple, but we will see. ๐
Happy happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
Simple in your world equals beauty. Happy Thanksgiving!
SO PRETTY!!!!!!!!!! I love the little star and those books are gorgeous. (I have a thing for books!)

Very pretty and simple, Shirley and I like the grain sack ornament. Since returning home at midnight Sunday from a two week trip to Florida, I already feel the pressure of being late with my Christmas decorating. But I try to follow my son’s advice of not usurping the current holiday LOL. I will be putting up my tree and starting to deck the halls on Friday. I definitely plan to keep it simple. All is calm.
I love your simplified decorating for Christmas! It’s all very beautiful, Shirley.
I hope you have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving filled with all your favorite people. Blessings to you!
Hugs,
Cecilia

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Love your SIMPLE vignette! Where did you get the books, they are great! XO
What a lovely vignette, Shirley! I love Christmas and tend to drag everything out to use for decorating. Your post is certainly inspiring. Wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving!
Love your simple vignette Shirley. I am doing the same and just enhancing what I already have in my decor. This way you do not have to put anything away. Looks very pretty. Enjoy your family. Safe travels.

Asking you to keep it simple maybe an unfair request. You get such joy out of decorating and do it so will I see no reason for you to keep it simple.
I’m trying the simplicity approach this year…out of necessity since our Christmas things are at the back of the storage building. We may try to reach a few things. There are several things in the basement. It might be fun to use our imagination. My grandmother could work wonders for Christmas, with a few paper bells, bittersweet, and a little cedar tree cut the week before Christmas. It was magical.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Love the Christmas vignette. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
