The first thing I did when returning from Florida for Thanksgiving . . .
~ ~ was to decorate my French buffet for Christmas.
I hope you all had a most wonderful Thanksgiving.
My family and I traveled to Florida . . . to my sister’s home . . . where my mom also lives.
We were there for a week and I was a bit out of cyber sync. . .
~ ~ as my sister lives in the country . . no cell phone coverage and slow internet.
So I took a bit of a blog break.
Trying to keep to my simple Christmas decor this year, I embellished the existing decor . .
~ ~ adding minimal accessories . . . well, as minimal as I get!
I am carrying the Woodland theme throughout the main floor . . .
Using my collection of owls . . .
~ ~ most people love the day after Thanksgiving to shop . . .
~ ~ ~ ~ I love to hit the speciality shops after Christmas for deals on Christmas decor.
Icy branches were placed in the French demijohn and owls perched on the branches.
Ribbon wrapped topiaries placed on the candlesticks
Working on something next to the buffet . . . a bit of a sneak peek.
Always love to add birds to my vignettes for Christmas
The backdrop is a trophy plaque that I bought in France . . .
~ ~ I was told that they were agricultural/livestock awards.
Vintage French Grain Sack and pillow by Ann of On Sutton Place grace the chair in the foyer.
Oh you can see a bit more of my sneaky peeky . . .
Off to do more decorating . . . catching up from being away for a week in sunny Florida.
Happy Cyber Monday!!

Shirley,
I love your woodsy theme you have going on. Your owls are so adorable. Love those iced branches too. Those are gorgeous. Glad you had a wonderful time with your family for Thanksgiving. Sometimes a little break from the computer is a good thing! Happy Week Ahead.
Kris
Hi Shirley, love your woodland decor. I am just finishing in my home too and added a woodland natural style as well. So enjoying it. Your iced branches are wonderful and I have those same sweet owls. Glad you enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving and Happy December.
Have a great week!
Hugs
It’s just beautiful! Hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
So pretty. And, I have a ladder back chair with rush seat like yours. Love the way you styled everything. Sheila
It looks beautiful! Love the owls too…
Shirley, I love your small touches of icy branches & little feathery owls – so cute. The woodland decor really appeals to me, and I use it in my sunroom. Your cyber break was probably a nice thing while on vacation with your family – it helps keep the focus where it ought to be. Happy Holidays!
Rita
It is lovely Shirley! So many natural elements are wonderful!

Love your icy branches and owls along with your French antiques.
Shirley, I love your woodland theme! Every detail is perfection! Love that little pillow 🙂
Susan
Just gorgeous, Shirley. I love your woodland theme, would be perfect for my future woodland home. 😉
Your little owls on the branches are so cute! Glad to hear that you had a good Thanksgiving.
I’m keeping things pretty simple here this year, too, Shirley. I’m just not “in the mood”, which I hate because I love Christmas time. I love your owls! They are so cute! I’ve looked at some recently but should probably do what you do and wait until they are on clearance.
So beautiful, Shirley! Love the way you used the demijohn with the icy branches…those owls are adorable!

I love all the burlappy type fabrics against your beautiful furniture. Your little snippets of Christmas as so darling!!
xox
LOVE that demijohn and love your woodland theme! The owls are adorable. My daughter just got into owls so I have purchased a few owl things for heer for Christmas too. Have fun decorating!!!
Beautiful! I LOVE those owls…and the grain sack and well everything!
I have been out of pocket, sort of too. Hope to catch up this week. My computer was acting up and it was time for a new one…but then it wasn’t quite right. Not bad enough to return, but not quite right, so it is at the local guru. For now I am back on the old lap top.
Your buffet is beautiful, Shirley. I should look around for my icy branches. Pretty sure they are not in storage yet.
Shirley, this is so pretty! The Woodlands theme is one of my favorites! You have such a gift with vignettes! I have been moving my Dad back to his home today. I just had to quickly stop by and say I love this!
Blog breaks are a good thing – especially when you come back and do this! Love the owls – what a hoot!
Love all your Christmas decorations especially your cute little owls. Your french pillow and demijohns caught my eye too.
You are way ahead of me decorating. I had company most of the week so tomorrow I hit the floor running.
Your house lends itself beautifully to the decor you’ve chosen as this year’s theme. Somehow I bet that’s not an accident. It’s fun seeing how it unfolds.
Love the woodland theme and your little white owls. I’m keeping it simple for me this year. My son and granddaughter will be here for Christmas.
So glad that you had a wonderful time at Thanksgiving with your family.
Looking forward to seeing your Christmas decor.
Have a great week.
Mary
Beautiful Shirley!! I’m sure it was nice having a break and enjoying family!
Uh, sorry to inform you, but “simple” and “Christmas” do NOT belong in the same sentence when it comes to your holiday decorating! Your Woodland theme is beautiful (your little owls are too cute), and I can’t wait to see more!
Love the Owls and icy branches! Everything looks so beautiful, Shirley.
Hello again. Hope your holiday was blessed. 🙂 Still love your style. Out of curiosity, did you purchase or make those ‘icy’ branches yourself? If DIY, how is this done? ~~Swan
Your buffet looks earthy and festive – so pretty. I just love those fluffy little owls, they’re adorable.
Sally
The owls are beyond cute! 😀
xx
Very Pretty-love the owls and the boxwood!
Oh, how very creative. I love your owls.

Those little owls are just too adorable! I need some.
Shirley, there is nothing simple about your holiday decor! Lol! Your woodsy theme is so pretty! IF this is simple, I’d hate to see what you would have done, going all out!
Loving your snowy owls and icy look. Of course, I always love your creations.♥
Your little owls are so sweet! Lots of beautiful touches, as always, Shirley!
xo Heidi
Love the theme and the mix of things you chose. The branches with the owls are my favorite! Ann’s pillow is lovely- she does the best work!
i missed you! i hope you had a lovely thanksgiving. it was quite for us but kinda nice.
Alles liebe zum 1. Geburtstag und mach weiter so!!!!!Und ein Überraschungspaket heißt Überraschungspaket weil es uns überraschen möchte!!!Also ich laß mich gerne überraschen!!!!
Minimal??!??!??!?! Do you have ANY clue what that word even means??!?!??!! 🙂 Girl, you know you, me, and a bunch of others out here in Blogland can’t even say that word with a straight face!!! What you have done here is the kind of thoughtful, inspired embellishment that only someone with a trained eye and real talent can pull off. So, so pretty!
I love those little white owls with that quizzical look on their faces! I have their brown cousins here on a tree this year.
This is a great tutorial in how to transition a look into the Christmas spirit! I’m glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and that you were able to get a nice little break from the computer…although not by your own design. We all need a little break every now and then. As long as you didn’t hear the theme song from “Deliverance” playing off in the distance, I think you were good to go! 🙂
What adorable little owls… Such cuteness…
