I am not sure about you, but it seems like for me, too little time and much to do.
Is that the common statement of the Holidays?
But then again, I do tend to go a tad overboard . . . really trying to keep it simple.
Yesterday my friend Sherri delivered my new pillow for my chair.
The pillow was being monogrammed.
Now doesn’t this want to make you curl up in the chair with a great book and cup of tea?
The fur throw and pillow are from Pottery Barn . . .

Sammy the Squirrel has made yet another appearance this year.
I got Sammy at our annual Tacky Gift Exchange that is held in January.
Glad I got him . . . and to think it was going to be a play toy for my friend Martha’s cat!
I have been working on my mantel . . . for a mantel blog hop.
The reveal will be on Monday, December 8th.
In the meantime, here are some sneaky peekies!!
As you can see, I am using a flocked garland this year.
It used to be used as a garland on a small slim tree that was in the master bedroom.
That slim tree is now in the foyer.
This year rather than taking away many of my decorative accessories and replacing them
with Christmas items . . . I have just embellished what is already in place.
With just a few Christmas floral picks I was able to dress up the bookcase.
Also adding a few ornaments resembling snowballs . . .
~ ~ and large silver ornaments on the candlesticks.
Monday, December 8th, will be the mantel reveal . . .
~ ~ along with some of my fellow bloggers with their fabulous Holiday Mantels!
Have a most wonderful day and fabulous weekend.
I will be spending part of the weekend with my granddaughter as she chooses a tree
from a Christmas tree farm and will cut it down . . . well with a little help from her dad!

Shirley I love it all, so beautiful. Have a fun weekend with your Granddaughter. It’s so fun to go cut a tree. XX Jo
Shirley, your chair looks so comfy and cozy-love the pillow! And your bookcase is so pretty ๐

Sounds like your one busy lady. Like the bookcase very much. It’s a great idea to keep what you have and add some Christmas with it.
I’m busy decorating as guess who’s coming to grandma’s house for Christmas, yes Kelly. So I want everything perfect. She loves Christmas and all the pretties.
Have a great time with your little sweetie picking out a tree. She will have a ball trying to find the perfect tree.

LOVE your idea to embellish instead of removing items!!! Removing means more work when the holiday is over, too, and embellishing eliminates some of that. Thank you!!!
Shirley, I love the white china pieces with the Christmas embellishments! Your mantel looks gorgeous! I love flocked garlands and trees! I can’t wait to see more! Have a great weekend! I’m off to take the chandelier to the duplex! I forgot it yesterday!

Everything looks very pretty and I am soooo proud of you, my friend, for keeping things relatively simple. Enjoy your time with Graylyn this weekend. We will be having breakfast with Santa tomorrow. And of course, our grandson, Jackson will be in attendance. These are special times.
I think you have it covered Shirley! That pillow along with the throw are so beautifully cozy and comfortable! Love that you added the monogram!

It all looks beautiful, Shirley. I am loving the pops of white and that pillow is spectacular. I’m doing the same thing, just adding to my existing decor rather than replacing it.

I totally agree with you! Too little time and so much to do. I see in the comments that great minds do think alike. I, too, am just decorating around what is already up instead of replacing. I think the older I get the more simple I try to keep the decorating. The pillow looks great. Can’t wait to see your mantle.

Shirley, love the idea of keeping things in place and placing the picks. Your pillow, throw and even that little squirrel are perfect for the holidays and winter, in general.

I like Sammy. He’s got kind of an Afro tail going on! There won’t be much of that left over after your friend’s cat gets ahold of him! ๐
Did Ralph Lauren stop by and leave you a little gift, because that’s what that chair with the pillow and throw look like!!!!! WOW!!! Color me impressed to the max!
I’m liking your little sneak peeks around the house before the big reveal of this year’s tree!

Rather than curl up in the chair, may I stretch out on the sofa. You are way ahead of me on decorating, and it’s all looking wonderful. I like seeing so much white and red.

Shirley, from what I see I know I am going to LOVE your mantle!!! I love thaty flaocked garland! And I spied one of your beautiful owls. I am hoping to find some on clearance after Christmas, yours are so sweet! Great idea to just embellish what you have instead of replacing everything. Maybe one year I will be able to convince myself to do just that:):) XO, Pinky
