In the years past, I used a green garland and trimmed it with ribbon, ornaments,
and all the pretties of Christmas.
This year, I went with a white flocked garland to create a Wintery Christmas Mantel.
Yes, this flocked garland was my inspiration piece.
It is quite a large, full garland, so I kept the accessories simple.
My existing stockings had very vibrant colors so I ordered these beautiful linen
stockings with vintage pillow case fabric from Ann of On Sutton Place.
Silver glittered letter tags from Pottery Barn were added to each stocking.
In keeping with the woodland theme, I added more owls to the mantel.
I searched for the right trees to place on the mantel with no success.
I had these pine sprays/picks and I shaped them into trees!
Simple black lanterns and a duo of owls flank the left side too.
I have had these white ceramic ornaments for several years
and thought that they would work well with the theme and color of the mantelscape.
I guess I could have just left well enough alone, without the hanging ornaments . . .
but you know me . . just one more thing!!
You can see the reflection of the Christmas tree lights on the granite mantel surround.
On the hearth sets a vintage basket of berries and Sammy the Squirrel . . .
my rescue squirrel.
I am pleased with the way this room turned out this year.
