How To Makeover a Winter Bedroom to Spring

The news lately is all about how awful the winter storms are . . .

Places like Boston with record breaking snowfalls and here this week we are dealing with a winter storm

with mainly ice . . . hate ice, would rather have snow!

While hunkered down in the house with a driveway like an ice skating rink,

I decided to make over my bedroom from Winter to Spring,

as I am officially tired of Winter and do not want to embrace it anymore!!

Pottery Barn had a great sale this weekend. . . An additional 20% off of everything in the store.

So with hubby in tow, I went to the store/mall to find some new pillow covers for the master bedroom.

Now when we got to the mall, we went in different directions . . . he went to Brooks Brothers

and I went to Pottery Barn. Now, of course I took a lot more time in Pottery Barn, so he joined me in

my hunt for new pillows and searching for good deals!

Master Bedroom-Housepitality Designs

I used the Vanessa bedding by Pottery Barn that I have had on this bed in the past for my Spring look.

The apricot colored yummy velvet pillows and the very soft fur pillow

are the new additions to the bedding ensemble.

When looking for new pillows for this room, I have to keep in mind the sofa that is in the sitting area.

The sofa that is a soft peach color that was once taupe.

I love the fur pillow . . . I rather find it an unexpected piece for the room . . .

well, at least a bit unexpected for me!

Also, you will see a snipit of the print that is hung above the bed.

This print was in the stairwell of the great room that was replaced with a mirror.

These pillows, a combination of Pottery Barn and custom made pillows were a part of a bedding ensemble

that was on the bed prior to changing it out to the Winter Birds bedding.

I love that I can move things about. Shuffling the decor!

With the purchase of just three pillows and gathering more pillows and

bedding of a beautiful floral print that I already had,

I was able to transform the room from Winter to Spring and also transform my mood from icy winter to

Happy Spring!!….Cue Pharrell Williams and the Happy Song!

And speaking of Happy, I mentioned before that I was taking more time in Pottery Barn than my hubby took

in Brooks Brothers. While I was making a decision on pillows, he was browsing the store . . .

I know, he’s a keeper . . . Anyway, he came upon something that he liked and it was a deal.

It was 60% off with an extra 20% off . . . I was surprised that he first, found it . . .

and second, he liked it and encouraged me to get it!

So stay tuned as it is something for the guest room.

Have a great day and hope that the sun is shining and you can sing the Happy Song!!

When I opened this post today I just smiled before I even started reading. I love the coral accents. One of my favorite colors to wear but I would not have thought to use it in a pillow. I love it! So bright and cheery in these snow filled Michigan days. Maybe I’ll head on over to Pottery Barn today and see what treasures I can find.

  6. Love those velvet pillows. A nice late winter change up. I wish my hubby liked to shop. He wouldn’t even walk in the store. He would camp on a bench in the mall.

Love the coral accents. I am off today to do a little retail therapy myself in hopes it will cure my cabin fever. We have been sequestered since Sunday with more to come on Saturday. Will winter ever leave?! Even though my hubby feels it’s a little early to decorate for spring with so much winter yet to come, sometimes you just have to do what makes you “Happy”!

  10. Ha that sounds just like us my husband would be in Brooks Brothers and I would be in Pottery Barn! Great deal! Good luck with the ice and I agree snow is much better.

Your bedroom looks great! I really love how that sofa wound up fitting in. You sound like me and my hubby – when we go to the outlets he hits his stores and I hit mine. Then we meet up until we come to the next set of stores.

  43. Good Morning Shirley~
Your Master B/R is beautiful. I love the mix of pillows on your sofa, and the paint color is so soft and pretty. What color is it? Everything looks so inviting.

I love Pottery Barn. I try only buy when there is a sale, but they keep sending the $25
gift cards, so I have to keep buying.

    Have a wonderful day.
