I promise that this will be the last sneak peek of the guest room. Total reveal soon!
A NQV (Not Quite Vintage) Thomasville hutch replaced the dresser and mirror in this room.
I always have a TV for my guests so that they can wind down after a busy day and watch the news or
a favorite entertainment channel.
The TV was placed in the hutch; however, the look of this was not sitting well with me.
So, I proceeded to think of a solution of how to disguise a TV without having to use a curtain rod for
mounting fabric and not having to drill holes into the door.
So I came up with this:
I made a template with a foam core board.
Wrapped and glued the fabric to the board . . . easy peasy.
So how do I apply these to the door?
With self sticking velcro!
Placed on the front of the panel so that the velcro would adhere to the inside of the door.
I used a coordinating fabric on the inside of door.
I think I will be adding some decorative trim on the outside edges of the coordinating fabric.
Loved the way this project turned out.
It lends for me to be able to switch out the fabric easily . . . as you know, me being me, always
look for a chance just to do that!
Have a great weekend enjoying doing the things you love!

that fabric looks totally beautiful with the hutch. what a great idea to conceal and still look amazing at the same time.
Love this idea and I really enjoy your post and seeing your beautiful home.Of all that I look at there are some I like but I think yours is my favorite.:) Have a wonderful day.
How clever of you! May steal that idea sometime.
How pretty! I love gingham!! This is the perfect solution!
Great idea, Shirley. And it looks like it was fairly easy to do. It looks great. I’m glad you’re going to do a full reveal soon. So many teasers, all so pretty! I can’t wait to see it all pulled together.

Super cute idea. I love me some checks and especially in my room! thanks
Great idea Shirley, and what an easy fix to cover up the tv. I do the same thing, always hid it behind doors 🙂
I love this idea, Shirley!! The checked fabric also adds a pop of fun to the white hutch!

Looks good. We hate those black boxes destroying the pretty decor of a room!
Very clever and it looks wonderful!
That is a really clever idea! And one thing I have learned by dropping by…you will change it up! Hehe! Have a great weekend! 😉
Clever idea Shirley! I don’t like seeing electronics in my décor. But alas, the Mr. won with the telly in the living room above the fireplace :/
Happy weekend!
You are so creative. Can’t wait to the the completed guest room!
What a great idea and it looks beautiful too! Can’t wait to see the full reveal of your guest room!
Genius! I love it! You did a great job and I bet it didn’t take too long. That is nice that you provide a TV for your guests. We have one in the bonus room for our guests and it DOES get used. They have the whole upstairs when they come so it is nice and private for them.
Very very brilliant Shirley, it looks great!
What a great idea! Your so smart! It looks just beautiful too, I love the material as well! Have a wonderful weekend my friend! xoxox
That is so clever and cute! Thank for being an inspiration to all of our decorating needs.
That’s a great idea to hide the ugly TV (the bane of my decorating existence)!
Thank you, thank you so much for this idea, Shirley! I have an entertainment center with an area that has glass doors. That particular section has become home to our photo albums and loose photos that really needs concealment. I do believe I’m going to start looking for the right fabric and try your idea! You’re so creative!!! Rosie@ The Magic Hutch
lucky houseguests! That was very clever. Have a good weekend.

What a great idea! I love the fabric too. Its good that I live too far to visit you because I may not want to leave…lol
Shriley, your makeover is wonderful! It is amazing what a little ingenuity and fabric can do. LOVE the buffalo checks!
Wonderful idea and looks fantastic…
I don’t think you could have chosen a better fabric for that white hutch Shirley! It looks perfect, and of course your solution is equally perfect! I also prefer a TV that is hidden, although right now we only have one (out of 6!) that is out of sight.
Shirley I really like your fabric choice. The black and white check it perfect. Hugs, Jo
