Guest Room Hutch Makeover {How To Disguise A TV}

I promise that this will be the last sneak peek of the guest room. Total reveal soon!

A NQV (Not Quite Vintage) Thomasville hutch replaced the dresser and mirror in this room.

I always have a TV for my guests so that they can wind down after a busy day and watch the news or

a favorite entertainment channel.

The TV was placed in the hutch; however, the look of this was not sitting well with me.

So, I proceeded to think of a solution of how to disguise a TV without having to use a curtain rod for

mounting fabric and not having to drill holes into the door.

So I came up with this:

I made a template with a foam core board.

Wrapped and glued the fabric to the board . . . easy peasy.

So how do I apply these to the door?

With self sticking velcro!

Placed on the front of the panel so that the velcro would adhere to the inside of the door.

I used a coordinating fabric on the inside of door.

I think I will be adding some decorative trim on the outside edges of the coordinating fabric.

Loved the way this project turned out.

It lends for me to be able to switch out the fabric easily . . . as you know, me being me, always

look for a chance just to do that!

Have a great weekend enjoying doing the things you love!

  15. Genius! I love it! You did a great job and I bet it didn’t take too long. That is nice that you provide a TV for your guests. We have one in the bonus room for our guests and it DOES get used. They have the whole upstairs when they come so it is nice and private for them.
