I was anxiously waiting for most of the pollen to go away before I dressed my front porch.
The pollen has been truly a nuisance . . .
between the mess and the allergies it prompts.
I reached for my go to grapevine wreaths that are oval in shape
as my doors are narrower than normal.
They were filled with Fall flowers that I removed
and recycled the more Spring like flowers to create another design.
I stripped the flowers and greenery off the grapevine wreath
and began to create another design.
After two seasons, the ribbon was still in pretty good shape
so there was no reason to replace it and I so love the polka dots.
Now you are probably wondering why these wreaths are on the floor.
When I complete one, I place it on the floor so that I can look down
and use it as a guide for the second one. Easier to gauge seeing it from above.
Wanted to use mainly white hydrangeas with pops of yellow flowers
and greenery for more color and texture.
With the better quality silks available these days,
sometimes you have to look twice to see if the flowers and greenery are real.
After I hung the wreaths on the doors, I then proceeded to fluff up the porch
saying good bye (hopefully) to the pollen.
Join me on Friday to see how I dressed the porch for Spring.
Have a most beautiful day!

Those look great and my door is jealous and naked!
Love the polka dot ribbon! Your wreaths are beautiful. My house is a total disaster area with boxes every where. I am looking forward to doing some decorating again once we get moved and settled in. I always find such wonderful inspiration here.
Gorgeous wreaths!! We got our sod yesterday…the porch is in progress.:-)
Great job, I like yellow flowers for spring and summer. They always look so cheery. I love the polka dot ribbon, too. I wish I could have found some when I made my spring wreath but I wound up with plain burlap.
Those are so pretty Shirley! Love the ribbon and white hydrangeas. I made one recently that has polka dots and white flowers too. Such a pretty combo for this time of year. ๐
Lovely! We are at least a month away from the pollen invasion, so porch cleaning etc has to wait! If you do it now, you have to redo everything! Mother Nature is in control, we are subject to her whims, ๐ Beautiful day here, so much garden work to do. It’s like a full time job!
Love the beautiful wreaths. Hydrangea’s are my favorite flower. fondly ~lynne~
Your wreaths look bEAUTIFUL!! I LOVE that polka dot ribbon! Can’t wait to see your porch! I got a new SQUARE base for a wreath for my door and am doing it today to show Fri! I know I will be SO jealous of your amazing porch. I REALLY miss my old one…..
Love the wreaths. They look so springlike and I also love polka dots. Where did you find that ribbon?
Forgot to mention, when I do double wreaths I have 2 easles that sit side by side and I do both wreaths together. When I place something on one wreath I do the mirror image of that on the other. That way you kNOW they will match!
Gorgeous…..love the ribbon, so cute!

Your wreaths looking amazing on your front door. I love hydrangeas and have 10 bushes and they are leafing out beautifully. Now if I can keep water on them. I do have some flaux hydrangeas in arrangements in the house. They make a great arrangement.
Looking forward to your post on the porch. Have a great day.

Shirley, your hydrangea wreaths are just lovely! I cant wait to see the hydrangeas in my bloom. Thankfully, we didn’t have any late season freezes like last year! Recently, I saw the cutest summer wreath done with a garden hose that I think I will copy for my front door this year.
BTW..the pollen is starting to get a little better here in central VA but its been pretty tough these past two weeks. I am so tired of washing down porches, outdoor furniture and vehicles and then sneezing my head off.
Beautiful wreaths, love the polka dot ribbon! I’m waiting for all the green stuff to go away before I spring clean the screened porch. I’ve done it too early in the past and have to do it two more times before all the pollen settles, this year I’m waiting a while.
Blessings,
Cindy
Your wreaths are so gorgeous, Shirley…much prettier than anything you could buy! Love the bright springy colors with the cute bow. I’m waiting for the pollen to settle down too…It’s always such a mess, especially when the wind is blowing.

Shirley, I love your Spring wreaths! Burlap polka ribbon is one of my favorites! Your choice of florals are gorgeous and look fabulous on your wreaths! You did an outstanding job making these! I can’t wait to see your porch! I just cleaned our porch and am hoping the pollen is gone- fingers crossed!
