I gave you a bit of a sneak peek of the porch with my front porch wreaths here.
Today, I will show you the rest of the porch dressed for Spring.
I began the decorating of the front porch by purchasing two pillows for the settee.
The pillows are from HomeGoods and I chose them for their happy colors.
HomeGoods Happy that is!
The blue vintage transferware bowl holds an array of plants
which I tried to coordinate with the color scheme of the pillows.
Love popping vintage garden tools in containers.
I loved that the pillows were bright and happy and just said Spring.
As you can see in the background, the trees are budded out
and the leaves on the maples are full and colorful.
Petunias of yellow and orange fill the birdbath.
Flowers bring such joy don’t they?
The vintage weathered door remained in the left corner of the porch.
My favorite garden center re-opened and I bought this huge geranium
along with a van load of hanging baskets and plants.
I brought the vintage wagon back to this corner of the porch.
The vintage step ladder/hand truck was relocated to another area
that you will see soon.
I guess you can call this corner of the porch my vintage corner.
With the vintage weathered door and vintage wagon
and my Red Wing crock that houses an abelia plant.
It is great that the pollen (again, hopefully) is over
and I can now begin to dress the other two porches.
Always a fun thing to do.
For the sheer “JOY” of it!
Have a most joyous day!!!
I also want to thank everyone for their very kind comments and congratulatory notes
on my very first magazine feature. It still seems a bit unreal.
And I am still doing cartwheels across the floor!
If you are reading about this for the first time, this is what the cover looks like:

Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday

Looking good, but it always looks good. I still haven’t bought the first flower. Finally worked in the yard for the first time yesterday. For some reason hubby thought he was the grass cutter now. Nope, still my job!
Your front porch is full of floral beauty, charm, and so welcoming!!! I love the corner with the bench and pretty pillows. The transferware bowl of flowers is a favorite too. And the vintage corner…well, you have to know how I feel about that…ADORE!!! Some day we may have to work out a trade for that door!
See you for lunch…Yay!!

Sitting on your front porch must be wonderful. I loved everything.
Your porch always looks so good. I love how full your plants are already! The vignette in the corner with the old door and wagon is my favorite.
Transferware bowl love Shirley and of course I love your chippy door! It was overcast and drizzly yesterday and the perfect weather for planting and potting…oh my aching back! Looking forward to picking up your magazine this week π
Your porch looks wonderful! Such pretty flowers…did I spy a Japanese maple too? It’s still too early to buy flowers here…another 2 weeks at least. Doing lots of yardwork though…moving things around and planting evergreens. Gorgeous geranium in your wagon! π
Your porch is gorgeous. I love that corner with the wagon, stunning. I am so thrilled for you and congrats again on the magazine feature. That is so fabulous.
Your porch is gorgeous π I love that idea of ” popping in” a vintage garden tool in a pot! Such a beautiful house you and your husband have Shirley! Love it all:)
Your porch is soooooo beautiful….everything looks so lush already!!!! It was rainy and windy here this weekend so I still haven’t bought any plants yet. It is going to be a really late start this year I guess?!?! Have a great week!!
~Des
Oh your porch is so welcoming! It will be some time before I can even think of buying flowers. We are about a month behind for gardening…my crocuses are just now peeking through. Congratulations on the magazine! I will be picking it up this week.
Have a great week Shirley
A beautiful, welcoming porch, Shirley, filled with fresh ideas. Love the vintage tool, the antique door, your potted plants, and the view into your stunning yard.
Your porch says WELCOME, come in and sit awhile. Everything looks so good and relaxing. Love all the colors that you have incorporated into porch. Yes, the pillows do say SPRING.
I’m off to look for Country French Design magazine. You are so deserving of this layout of your stunning home.
Enjoy your week.
Mary
How do you do it all Shirley!!! Your porch and flowers are perfection!!! SIGH!!!!
As always Shirley you never disappoint. It’s So beautiful. I can’t wait to begin planting. Our weather here in NJ has been very strange. Still pretty chilly here. Your porch looks so welcoming. I always tell you that I may just pop up there and watch the world go by!
Shirley you should do cartwheels, what you have done is truly a dream come true in a Interior Designers life. I think your gardening should be put in a magazine to. Jo
Oh Shirley I love your porch and love your vintage corner of the porch. That is so awesome. Love the wagon and that old chippy door. Really pretty. It is so nice that you can start to have your Spring and summer flowers beginning. We have a few more weeks here before we can start “real” flowers. Your porch is so inviting and pretty. You might just open the door someday and find me sitting out there waiting to have coffee with you.
Kris
Shirley beautiful. I always enjoy your porches. Our new will get dressed soon. Hopefully by Mother’s day.

Hi Shirley, love your porch and all the pretty treasures making it so inviting. So excited for you on the mag feature. I remember how this felt when I had a feature. You are so deserving. I have yet to find a copy. I still have Barnes and Noble to check.
Have a wonderful week and fun doing those cartwheels!!
Hugs, CM
Your porch is so lovely! I love the vintage pieces and the pillows are very happy! I can’t wait to get moved and set up my new porch and patio.
I am so thrilled for you and your feature in the magazine and so happy we are in it together!
I LOVE everything on your porch Shirley! that wagon with the pink geraniums is wonderful! Congrats on your feature, I’ll have to locate it!
Your porch looks beautiful Shirley!! I was all over today looking for a copy of French Country Style and had no luck π not even at B&N?!?
Shirley, I wish I lived closer to you so we could spend some time reminiscing on your beautiful porch! I am the friend of many years that Shirley mentioned in her previous blog about The French Country Style magazine that we are in together. I forgot to say in my response that Shirley arranged the furniture in my family room which is on the cover. On a visit to my home Shirley placed the love seat and rug at a great angle and it is still that way today! Thanks, Shirley!
Looks so pretty and relaxing. Love the color of your petunias……and those pillows look so pretty with your flowers. I have got to clean pollen off my porch before I can do anything. And the pergolas need cleaning before I can hang my curtains or plant. I think I will do this Saturday since the weather is going to be in the 70’s with No Rain….YEA
So pretty Shirley. Love the sunny yellow petunias and your vintage corner. No flowers here yet. I’m still waiting for my tulips to bloom. Hopefully this week.
Beautiful porch, Shirley … I could sit out there for hours! So, since we don’t have a front porch, I’m just going to come and enjoy yours!! Again, congrats on your well-deserved feature!!
Congratulations on the magazine feature! The vintage trowel is cute and I love the wagon. Can’t plant flowers here for a while yet but I’m dreaming π
My next house will have a front porch. Hopefully a big one. Congratulations so much on being in the magazine I need to get to the store an pick one up.
Hi Shirley..
Just saw a post of yours on BNOTP and came to check out your blog.

Love that you use the charming wagon as the focus. Those geraniums look fantastic displayed in it!
It all looks so pretty, Shirley! I am very eager to get some plants (besides pansies) into my beds around our condo. My Japanese Maple that I planted last year has its leaves and looks very good. I love them and had two at our old house.
I love the dish with the plants on your table. Did you have to put gravel or rocks in the bottom of it for drainage? I’d love to try that myself, even in the house, but worry it would get water logged unless I had them in pots and put them in the container that way.
Your porch looks so beautiful and inviting! I love your vintage corner! and the happy and colorful pillows.
Also love your idea of sticking vintage gardening tools into your pots. Looks so pretty!!
Thanks for sharing!
Shirley, your porch looks wonderful! I especially love your vintage corner. I’m working on my porches, too, now that the pollen onslaught is finally over!! Now I need to ask you–what’s your favorite garden center? Your plants look luscious!
I still need to get out and find a copy of your magazine. (I’ll always think of it as “your” magazine!)
Shirley, you have so many wonderful vintage pieces that you incorporated beautifully into your Spring porch! I love your idea of adding flowers to vintage china! The door is fantastic and your pillows are so bright and happy! You have created a welcoming entrance that any visitor will love.
Beautiful! I love Spring and all your little touches. The pollen is yet to leave here:-( I need to make a wreath for my front door, you are inspiring me!
I’m so glad that the pollen deluge is over, aren’t you?! I feel like I’ve been scrubbing my porch off for weeks. Love your new pillows β they are so cheerful and just the right touch!
Everything is simply beautiful. Those yellow petunias are stunning.Congratulations on your magazine spread. I’ll look for it in town. Well deserved!
Shirley I love your spring porch! I am still needing finish up mine but today my garland came so hopefully the weekend. I am still trying to hunt down a copy. Crossing fingers that Costco will have it this weekend.
LOVE your cozy porch and the cute little shovel peeking out of the planter! Of course you’re in a magazine, you’re amazing!
Oh, Shirley, how did I miss this post! Your porch is beautiful, as always! We are still working on ours. We are rearranging some things and adding some additional perennials. I found the magazine at Lowe’s the other day, when I went to get some plants. The pictures are gorgeous! You should be proud!
Your porch cannot look more beautiful and I would also be doing carwheels if I where featured in a magazine… Congrats, Shirley… You deserve it… You are very talented…
Oh I’m completely swooning over your front porch Shirley!! I love how lush your flowers and plants are and your furniture and decor is all so inviting! Congrats on the magazine feature too! How fun! Thanks for sharing your porch at the Sensational Summer Outdoor Spaces Link Party!! Pinned π Happy Summer! ~ Heather
